  1. I have two video cards on my laptop and CA is defaulting to the old one. i need to direct it to the correct video card. Cannot find it anywhere where to change it. The card CA is using is too old and the model is B&W. Ca is defaulting to The Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 and i need to point it to the NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M.
  2. The client for this kitchen was extremely happy with the results, Couldn't make up his mind on the splash back. After showing him these three options his choice was obvious
  3. Available on my website Thea ready materials all PBR and over 2K base map. All materials are tileable and ready to use in Thea. If your not using Thea that's ok, advise which maps you need for your render engine and I can supply the maps, up to 4K. Texture maps have been reduced in order to post here.
  4. Hi Kathleen, Been a long time hope you are well. I have made a few materials Thea ready, check them out on my website. There are many free ones. All been made with Substance designer and with 2K maps. Nice Renders as always.
  5. I was talking about all the walls have a small step everywhere, where the foundation walls meet with the walls above
  6. Hi Dianne, Does the external walls suppose to have that small step in the brickwork?
  7. Hi Guys, I know many times we have covered this topic, but i need some suggestions on which programs there are out there, to do good takeoffs from a PDF. I'm looking at Build-soft at the moment and you get a great Bill of materials by building assemblies, I'm struggling at the moment trying to work out how to set it up. lol At the moment I'm using CA to get my quantities though its too limited to get the figures of the costing. Whereas Build soft after making the assemblies i can simple drop in components and get an exact costing and quantities out of it. Simply, you draw a line around the footprint of the building and with that one line around the perimeter calculate, my footings, reo area of slab and wall quantities. I believe once i set it up it shouldn't take more than about an hour max to obtain a full estimate with all the figures. I'm struggling to get two to three quotes a day with using CA and a spread sheet. I think if CA eventually perfect their material list it would be far more superior.
  8. Hi Scott, I couldnt do this if i tried, cannot understand whats going on.
  9. Job 001 Wattlegrove Revison 5.planPlan attached. Never seen this before.
  10. Dont know what setting i need to change to fix this problem. Joists seem to be housed over the side of the raffters
  11. Anyone have any experience with working on CA on the cloud. Can i get a licence to work with in the cloud.
  12. Yeah Joe Sounds Good, The average ceiling height here is 2.7. Thanks. Joe i sent you Pm yesterday maybe you didn't see it, Any chance of sharing the hole in wall? This could be very useful for me
  13. Nice one Joe, I cannot get your video to play smoothly, maybe bad conductivity at the moment. I like what you did a lot. Any discount if i get all three, or maybe you have more? I use the material list quite a bit i think your macros would be a great help.
  14. Scott, believe i didn't even know about this tool. Saved me a lot of work Thanks again
  15. Thanks Scott, In framing defaults in the wall tab, at the bottom is states Build Wall Framing Details from exterior. Excellent. Scott, One more thing if you can help, See the bathroom wall where the door is, i broke the wall into three sections, because of my wall linings. Wall Detail 29 is Sheetrock both sides, Wall Detail 19 Is Sheetrock with villa board and tiles the other side and Wall Detail 20 is villa board one side and the other villa and tiles. Is there a way to send to layout in one piece, i.e. the three walls as one. Because im sure my carpenter will get confused. Also i cannot find the layer to turn on to show where i broke the wall, i think i might have to draw in manually, Or is there a way because i don't see it in the layers.
  16. After sending elevations on the layout everything fine except when i send the wall details, ie the framing, i see that the framing wall is flipped around the other way. (see attached Pic) Any idea how to fix? I cannot work the way to get the correct view for the framing.
  17. I've been asked to produce models of small dwellings. Fully scaled. The guy whose making the model advised me that my mesh is to thin and when the 3D printer makes e.g the gutters it will breakup because the gutter is very thin, especially when its scaled down so he placed a lid on top of the gutter, i can live with this. Though the windows he had to thicken up, and removed the glass mesh. I want to know has anyone achieved making miniature model successfully with CA and what happened with the window frames. This guy uses Rhino and beefed up the window thicknesses in order to successfully 3D cut them.
  18. Was amazed when i was building framing and when changing the roof rafters, they wouldn't change to the size i was inputting. Called a mate which is good with CA and advised to check my settings in Roof Plane Specification, and amazingly found that the size of the roof rafter was there too. My question is, when you setup build framing i thought everything is controlled here. So why did i have to go to roof plane specs and change the rafter size.
  19. Scott From a builders point of view its not feasible to build nine foot ceiling and and drop to eight. I looked at the plan, sketch that was posted and worked from that. From a builders point of view i don't image it would be feasible to have nine foot walls and drop the ceiling to eight.
  20. Did you download my model and see the five roof planes? And the nine foot ceilings inside?
