  1. Change the pitch right in the roof defaults. Spend some time reading the reference manual
  2. With the picture you showed, it looks like the 2 sides are the same height, while the middle is taller. So set the 2 side rooms to whatever rough ceiling is needed, and the middle room taller. You can keep the pitch the same for all of the roofs.
  3. Looks like 3 shed roofs. Nothing to over think about it. Adjust the room heights for each room, set your pitch, and off you go.

  5. If the terrain is sloped, then the main floor level needs to be lowered to keep it in relation to the grade. That's what I meant by lowering the floors. Adjust the subfloor levels in the negative direction to where it needs to be
  6. Might just be safer to send both plans to the same layout. Then any changes to one don't affect the other. That's my 2 cents anyway.
  7. Her asking for the CAD file "ASAP' would be a big red flag! If you've already done the work, and it's perfect, why wouldn't she just have asked "When do you think you could have the finished plan done?" I agree with winterdd. Let her take it if she's paid you for your time, etc., pat her on the head on her way out, and be glad it's not your headache now.
  8. I get it. I suppose you could sell it to her, and she can do what she wants. Definitely wouldn't give her anything without compensation.
  9. Is she wanting an actual CAD file, or using it as a generic term for your file? Either way, I'd be curious of her need or intent with it. Especially if she doesn't have the software.

  13. I suppose you could copy it, might need to be item by item, then build the roof automatically, then "paste-hold position" for it to be put back where you want it?
  14. It looks similar to a bow window. You could do small roof sections and have them come back to a straight section where the wall breaks at the curve
  15. Then you can extend the side of the countertop of the cabinet next to the dishwasher to extend over the item. If you want a finished end, then follow DB's idea for making a filler. I have one in my library too for the spaces that don't auto-fill when laying out the kitchen.
  16. Have you tried making the rails themselves invisible and narrow, the go to the railing defaults and change the width of your beam to match the columns?
  17. Maybe try copying the plan, then on the copy, delete everything that is existing, so there's only the new part left. Then you should be able to generate a material list from that.

  20. Similar to Rob, I will do a section view through the whole structure. I have all of my section notes (roof, wall types, floor, foundation, etc) on a word document. Then I will copy and paste the appropriate one into a text box for the detail it applies too. I can change the wording as needed, and it makes for a very quick way to get the sections done.
  21. Try drawing the rock wall as a slab to the size needed, and change the material to whatever rock you want it to be
  22. I'm guessing that maybe since it's under the window family, maybe it's including the trimmer framing?
  23. I think there's a bonus catalog (specialty doors) that may have cafe doors
  24. I use a solid color for existing walls, then use some of the geometric shapes, etc. for other wall type fill. You can use whatever color you want, yet obviously dark ones print best. It helps when labeling the wall types on the drawing so you know what types are where. I don't know if Chief will let you adjust the size and angle of the shapes, yet that helps to in separating them.
