I tried adding extra degrees to pano...in order to get the right view it duplicates some of the picture so then it is distorted..you would think adding say 90 degrees would rotate background 90 deg but it doesn't...I guess the only way is to rotate plan and make sure a levels are rotated exactly the same. I had the sun set to light the pano instead of coming into room..this is why the pano was washed out...looks better now..but still distorted.

Thanks I will try that

I read post, I will try setting angle past 360 and see if it rotates image. in pbr view the background is very bright.. any thoughts on how to make this better?
-
So I should just rotate plan until the view I want is achieved? you would think ca would have a adjustment on the backdrop? david Skogg

Is there a way of changing what the location of the background picture shows on a interior shot looking out? Here is an example picture with a full 360 deg view...
-
Only thing is this is for a real estate 360 so i cant show lights that aren't there... they wanted to have a panoramic photo in background but it seems pbr doesnt really show this very well.

mick, i added two lights in order to get rid of the black frames..doesnt make sense i would have to do this...there must be some issues with pbr.
-
Thanks Mick and Michael... I will give that a try...

I am trying to do a pbr of a condo suite, i added another floor on top to get rid of the light bleed at ceilings and the door jambs turn black or the entire door in some cases. I built this door symbol but why would pbr do this? I have seen it on the first release of pbr on white surfaces turning black. Here is the plan, any thoughts would be much appreciated. n4th.zip

thats very cool..yes the metal would be hard..also you kind of want to see the grout lines a bit so you can tell its tile. great job... -

Hi Dustin, callacatta and Carrara marbles are very popular types today and both have white backgrounds with grey veining.. you will see these used for counters and tiles more than a dark grey marble with white veins. -
Yes that is what i did as well, i ungrouped items until i could change bracing to another material..didnt seem to work for me
-
Gene i am using sketchup pro18, not web based.

Thanks Michael, what did you have to do...or that secrete sauce stuff?

I am trying to import this skp model and when ca imports the material for the metal supports is the same as the wood legs...any ideas how to fix this? i tried changing metal to blue in sketchup to see if this would work and then i could just adjust material on import..but it comes in the same colour as wood legs. Hey Dustin, substance tile viewer coming along, i like that i can adjust grout size on large tile, it only allows export as a bitmap now? I was trying to get a white large marble tile with grey veining..the colour lightness is so sensitive that it goes from a grey to a white with very little adjustment..here are two pics of the results. -
yes i did that but i was trying to keep your texture file the same exact size, once i changed both to 3x6 they aligned...thanks again..looks great.
-
Robert thanks for doing this...the tile is actually 3x6 so i tried adjusting scale down but the texture and the pattern don't match up...the original tile you had at 12x6 and now 11 13/16x6...i could move pattern in x direction until it matches...perhaps something on the orginal?

That’s awesome, I have gimp I will look into how to make normal maps.. what about bump maps or other maps? Or do you only need normal maps?
-
Hey Chiefers...can anyone make a tile texture like this? I was thinking that i could make a 3d object of tile and just apply it to walls...but maybe there is a better way? Inmetro_productsheet.pdf

The font you like, and all caps or not, and why
dskogg replied to GeneDavis's topic in General Q & A
I have adopted Agency Fb for all my text. I agree blueprint has had its day and now is old school. Because Agency Fb is compact it looks ok to do all caps if this is your choice. What do you guys think? -
Custom Material Generation with Substance Player

I have played around with substance player to make a few tile textures. I quite often use watercolour renderings to present my designs with lines. Here are some of the ones i have used, I prefer to have single lines for the texture over tile but in herringbone i cant use the ca as it is only 2-1 size, the hex i cant get to line up with the material? But the hex tile seems to have a really thick grout line and in pbr rendering it has really rough grout lines, Dustin is there an issue with the hex tile in substance player? -

Hi Dustin, this is kind of ornate but there are a few tiles that have a design inside them..triangle, hex example that would be great to have. I also think that if there is a way to adjust grout thickness that would be great, i think its too thin right now, if I had a 3x12 subway tile the grout line would typically be about 1/8" thick and it looks like the substance player is thinner than that? Is there a way to get more texture in a tile..here are some subway tiles i have personally used, lots of bumps that reflect light quite nice, not sure if chief can replicate this kind of texture. Also subway tile comes in a variety of ratio's, like 4 to 1 etc but you substance player only goes to 3 to 1, -

OMG .. just found this tread.. I can’t believe it’s been around so long. Great work Dustin. Would this work to produce these kind of tiles? -
How do you use drone picture shot and place model into?
dskogg replied to dskogg's topic in General Q & A
I am going to see what buildings are already modelled in 3D warehouse for the surrounding area and perhaps I will just export my chief model and import it into sketchup and then into google earth,.i found YouTube video on how to do this using sketchup. So in the end not use a drone photo. Using a flat picture of area doesn’t really work because there are tall buildings around and the one I need to model is 15 stories high.
