  1. Maybe you should download Blender first. https://corona-renderer.com/wiki/blender2corona/installation
  2. Software? I usually use vray for Max, Phoebe for the interior on some occasion.
  3. Hi Curt, Here's the latest build of the standalone: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4p5991h8erbcj69/JNZG9UdPPy PS I'll post in a new thread so some can follow.
  4. No need to buy 3dsmax. You can try Corona for Blender they are both free. There is also a StandAlone version but I haven't tried it yet. https://corona-renderer.com/forum/index.php?topic=905.0
  5. yes, it will. in fact I prefer the export format.
  6. I have no idea why you cannot find it. Maybe it went straight to your 3dsMax root folder. Try the standalone. What it says here are true: It's a one-click process. I find easy to use, That's all I can say, Main advantages Free for commercial use without any limitations, with user-friendly pricing planned for future releases. Easy to use - most scenes can be rendered with default settings, without changing a single parameter! Most new users are able to learn Corona in 1-3 days. And it is a deeply integrated 3ds MAX plugin, not only an exporter. High quality results with no interpolation artifacts or splotches. Only 100% crisp ray-traced shadows and GI. Even biased results are very close to the unbiased reference. Fast rendering with immediate feedback with the progressive rendering. Corona can quickly render complicated scenes with glossy reflections, soft shadows, massive vegetation, etc. Fast development - There is a new major version every few months. Most serious reported bugs are fixed in a matter of days. Users can propose new features, and most of the good suggestions are implemented in the next major release.
  7. Thank you! I would love see Chief avail of the Corona Renderer, It's real fast and most of all it's free....for now. https://corona-renderer.com/
  8. Just 1 request: Give us the ability to blur reflections.
  9. Adjust UV Roughness to 100% or change Material Class to General Material. If you want a bright ceiling use Ambient Occlusion instead of Uniform Intensity.
  10. Thanks. Here's a quick raytrace. You can also use the settings for your 2d floor plan.
  11. Charles, -All doors must not have casings. -place windows as you normally do. (you can make the sash and frames thinner like in your sample) -after everything is in place go to Default Settings > Floor > make ceiling height to 78". I can send you my template if you like.
  12. Yes, it can be been with ortho. Here's how: Do not use the perspective view. 1. orthographic view tools > ortho floor overview, rotate plan with arrow keys. 2. rendering techniques> standard 3. raytrace
  13. The advantage with Val's method is that you can render the plan to any size you want.
  14. OK. Make the room behind the porch "no roof" then generate. Get rid of the polylines first. (there are two)
  15. I drew some roof planes manually and leave the auto-generated roofs as they were. I use a series of breaks to get the desired outcome like "patching holes." Plan enclosed. question jintu.zip
  16. Much nicer image. LOL on my HRDI. You're on track!
  17. Nice but there has to be a hint of bluish hue coming form the sky that is why we are given environment light. That's what you get when your are familiar with HRDI (we can simulate this by using the "use backdrop image" or "sky") LIght sources specially in night scenes should not be too white. Chief renderings lack saturation and contrast, play with the adjust image properties, helps define shadows as well. Attached is the original backdrop and the raytraced.
  18. No comment. Next challenge please.
