Alaskan_Son
Is there a way to covert a molding poly with the profile into a solid that can be joined or subtracted with other solids? Not that I know of. I wish there was. I made a request a while back. I would encourage you to make it again. In the meantime you can just extrude a polyline in the appropriate shape and use that. Downside of course is that you can only essentially use one moulding line at a time.

johnny
Sounds good - I'll request this as well.
RodCole
If you have the appropriate software you can export the geometry and convert to solid then do the req'd operations and return to Chief as a symbol. Symbol placement can become an issue in certain circumstances, but there are ways to deal with that. I would also add that being able to covert not only molding poly, but also framing would be very useful.
Joe_Carrick
You don't have to export the molding polyline to another app. Just display it in 3D and convert to Symbol.
Joe_Carrick
Another thing that is possible is to create a "Face" - either by using the "Solid Face" tool or exploding a 3D Solid. The Face can be extruded to form a Solid. It's a little tricky to learn the process and what parameters to use for the extrusion, but once you get the hang of it......
