lbuttery
do some searches on the old forum there were some who were able to get ver 10 to run on Vista properly you could go to CA's website and find the correct driver download however, ver 10 wasn't written for Vista so you may find some "issues" also, try right clicking on the ver 10 .EXE and select "run as admin..." Bill_Emery
i still run version 10 occasionally on vista; it's been years since I set it up, but I believe that it runs in the XP compatibility mode.

Doug_Park
If you are serious about using Chief to do production work on modern hardware I would highly encourage an upgrade. Version 10 barely ran on Vista. If you are going to stay with version 10 I would recommend running XP. X2, 2 versions newer than Version 10, was the first version of Chief to fully adapt to the more modern Vista based operating systems. We have also done a lot of work to improve performance on modern systems by supporting multiple cores and more modern video cards.
lbuttery
I would recommend running XP However, note that Microsoft no longer supports XP so don't connect to the internet at all ever to avoid virus's etc If you do upgrade Chief, I would recommend avoiding X3 due to significant hassles with the library system probably best to get X4 or later Lew
