Hirnsausen
Hi, I have a home with a floor, of which I want to lower a round area by maybe around 50 to 75 cm. How best to do that? I want to place furniture inside there. House plan (based on the roof plan of other forum members):http://www.bigtingsagwaan.com/d/BowRoofMetric.rar And that is what I seek to achieve:
Hirnsausen
A room inside a room? Yes, that could work. Will try right away! Thanks!
Hirnsausen
UPDATEYes, it works, but the lowered floor makes now the (meadow) underground of the terrain visible. Is it possible to cut through the terrain, too? I want to lower it to a total of 75 cm, grass must not be visible. If you make that adjustment on the plan, please let me know what you did and how you did it. Thanks. Please see the PLAN file: http://www.BigTingsAGwaan.com/d/BowRoofMetric.rar
jcaffee
Use a combination of circle about center CAD lines, then transform those lines to: hole in floor, hole in terrain, a descending array of molding polylines with user defined height & width, a slab bottom. See attached. Be aware; there are overlapping CAD lines. jon Bow Roof Metric_JCC_Seating_Pit_Edit_NOPROP.plan
Greg_NY61
I used invisible wall, made a round room and dropped the floor. I used invisible wall, made a round room and dropped the floor.
DRAWZILLA
Just check "hide terrain under building" for the terrain problem
Hirnsausen
I think, I need to work with a combination of low room walls (solid railing) to lower the floor and have a useful "ring table" base around that lowered area, and the CAD circle shape for the underground removal (or unchecking "Hide Terrain under Building"). My big appreciation for your helpful answers and good spirit. I tried already, and have some questions to you: - I created a CAD circle. How to convert it to a hole in the floor? Tried to find that option in program menu and right-click menu and double-click menu. - And also, where is that "Hide Terrain under Building" checkbox? DRAWZILLA
And also, where is that "Hide Terrain under Building" checkbox? In the terrain DBX at the bottom of the first tab.
jcaffee
Select the CAD line, then click the Convert Polyline tool (highlighted in red in the attached image). Choose an available option. jon
Hirnsausen
JCaffee. thanks. I feel like a bloody, non-natural-English beginner (which I am, in fact). What button on top must I click, in order to get that side menu? Just selecting the circle does not give me this particular side menu. Drawzilla: Thanks, too. And same again: I am just a beginner. What is the meaning of DBX? Drop box? I Clicked on the Terrain button, and saw a tool to make a square or rectangular Terrain hole. I am trying out that one. DRAWZILLA
DBX= databox. Where all the settings that apply to that tool is set up.
jcaffee
I believe the default toolbar configuration places the menu on the bottom of the User Interface. jon
Hirnsausen
Finally, even I was able to find it. :-) Thanks a lot! It was the right-click on it. I didn't get it in any other way. Problem solved. More, new challenges and adventures ahead. ;-)
