Certeza
I'd like to hear or see suggestions on clean and clear ways you guys are designating braced wall lines, panels, and foundation ties in your construction documents. Thanks
Joe_Carrick
I think most of us use "Callouts" on the Foundation and Framing Plans. Perry might be using the "Notes" Schedule system as well.

Thanks Joe, I've been using callouts too. Do you have any screenshots handy? I'm trying to do a better job of cleaning up my docs. The foundation/framing crews are either scewing up too often or calling me too often. More intuitive layouts might save me the headache. Lately it seems that nobody wants the hassle of figuring proper location for the panels and ties, so they just throw a couple straps on almost every foundation corner and call it good. Joe_Carrick
Nothing I have would help you in that regard. If it's critical I use the "Wall Detail" and add the appropriate Simpson symbols for Hold Downs, etc. That way I can dimension where they need to be. DRAWZILLA
Here is a sample of a framing plan. I do it with cad, Chief doesn't address this at all.
johnny
This is what I typically use - showing difference between straps and bolt HDs. I use a chart that the H.? correspond to for specifics and then references a detail showing framing for that type. I personally try to keep specific notes down to a min on my plans, since plans end up easier to read IMO, and it lessens textual based errors. Certeza
Thanks guys. Mine tend to look like Drawzilla except that we're almost exclusively trusses over here and I typically have a separate page for roof framing and another for floor framing.
