RobertGHess
I'm very new to Chief Architect and I'm just trying to get started....especially on remodels. I would love to be able to use an existing "remodel layer set" to start from and get going with this software that I hope will help me do my job more efficiently. Every time I download Dalton or Albertson it tell me I can't open the zip. file....it's unsupported. What's that mean? Please help - I really want this investment to work. Thanks, Robert
DRAWZILLA
What version of Chief are you using? For remodels, I use the "existing cad mask in the background method", and have been for many years. It gives you a cleaner model which is important for everything else you do. the info is here " https://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02208/&sa=U&ei=sA2YVemUL4OvyQTr-pCABg&ved=0CAUQFjAA&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNFi0-sO9XSWNxTyf4cocmtT_XIlZA Maybe you have to drag the plan file to the desktop then open it. jcaffee
First, unzip the file. Do not try to launch the *.plan while viewing within the *.zip. jon
Kbird1
yep , sounds like you tried to open the zip with Chief ? , unzip it to an empty folder or your desktop and then open the .plan.
DRAWZILLA
Just dragging it to your desktop automatically unzips it.
Kbird1
Just dragging it to your desktop automatically unzips it. that may not work ,if the Windows Built in Utiity is not the default Zip Program , ie I use 7zip and this does not happen.
