Illegible labels in elevation view X6

Recommended Posts

Sometimes (not every plan), when I go to elevation view, the labels (cabinet, window, door, etc.) are black boxes. When I zoom in or out, I can see the labels briefly, but they return to a pixilated box once the image is stable. I've attached an example. Any suggestions?

Beth - haven't had that....yet.  Yesterday I lost my user catalogue.  Closed and reopened Chief and it was back.

I, on occasion have funny things happen with the library.  It disappears and I have to click the icon to get it back. (X5 & X6)

I would suggest closing and restarting CA and see if that helps.

Thanks Dennis - but it didn't work.

And to clarify, I can be working on the same plan in the same session and it will happen. The labels are legible, I resize a cabinet, they become illegible.

Update your video drivers, try a different font, post the plan, add a signature to your profile showing your computer specs...

Yes, looks like a video card problem to me.

It's clearly a video problem, but it may be solved by turning off optimizations, or software edge smoothing, or something like that, in Chief. Probably worth a call to tech support.

The NVidia driver you show is an old one.  296 is old they are up to 335 now. Try updating it

Beth, I can't help but you're not alone, I'm having the same issue with door and window labels, I'm running X6 on a near new Dell with NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M, with 326.60 driver, I thought it was a video card problem also - now I'm not so sure
