PLANSAHEAD
RECENTLY I HAVE BEEN USING PDFS IN MY LAYOUTS ACCOMPANYING MY PLANS. WHILE IN THE LAYOUT OUT THOUGH I HAVE BEEN NOTICING, AFTER ABOUT 3 FILES OR PDFS, IT BEGINS TO LAG AND BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO USE. IS THERE ANY WAY OF MAKING ALL THE FILES IN THE LAYOUT A LOWER DPI OR LOWER RESOLUTION? BUT WHEN THE TIME COMES OF PRINTING I CAN BRING THEM BACK TO REGULAR DPI OR RESOLUTION? DavidJPotter
By converting PDF views to image format (.jpg) you can then control DPI and image size in terms of Kb. You would then have to decide if those extra steps were worth the time spent. DJP
Richard_Morrison
I haven't tested this for performance improvement, but can you put the PDFs on a separate layer and turn off until you need them? If you want to convert to an image, I'd suggest .PNG, not .JPG.
DRAWZILLA
I also use "PDF's in the layout, For me the only slowdown is on that page. Not a lot though. You can control the dpi or resolution in some "PDF" programs.
