jtcapa1
I may be missing something obvious, but in playing around with deleting surfaces I noticed that it seems to change how the materials are shown. For example when I deleted the drywall and the plywood, it leaves the studs (which is what I wanted) and the siding beyond, but it looks like there's been a fire? the edges of the framing are shown in black?! and the siding looks like it is in the shade, which it might be. Why? youre using raytrace..the delete surface tool doesnt actually remove surfaces, so the pathtracer is still seeing a surface, and those studs are technically still enclosed by your exterior surface. They are black then because you have no light inside of your stud bays
Doug_N
A better approach would be to change the layer for the drywall in the specification box for the wall type. In the wall DBX the drywall layer is set to a newly created layer Turn off the drywall layer, now the framing is exposed And the light reaches the interior cavities of the framing.
