fcwilt
Hi. Please see attached. Due to the terrain the contractor suggested building the lower 3 feet of the rear wall out of concrete, with 'wings" to keep the terrain away from the side walls, allowing them to be stick built. I can get an approximation of that in CA but I have not used the various terrain features much in the past, so my skills are lacking. What is missing from this attempt is the "swale" that would be created to channel water away from the back of the structure. Can I achieve that look and, if so, how? Thanks much. glennw
I tink you firstly need to extend the retaining wall at 90deg to the end of the existing retaining wall. You can then use the terrain elevation tools like Elevation Line to shape the terrain around the corner.
fcwilt Posted yesterday at 12:12 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 12:12 AM Thanks for the reply. I could do that but it doesn't solve the problem of needing a "swale" behind the back, so the land slopes down then back up as it reaches the back wall. Mark3D Posted yesterday at 12:37 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:37 AM Use elevation lines to form swale drain.
fcwilt Posted yesterday at 03:10 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 03:10 AM Thanks for the reply. I have tried that but multiple lines interact in ways that I find very hard to predict. However if such lines should do they job I will keep trying. Frederick
