Ceiling treatments using molding

Okay, I'm going to play stupid. Interior designer here who does extensive drawings for my projects. I want to do a couple of ceiling treatments inside tray ceilings. It's easy enough to show T&G using a 3D CAD solid and applying a material to it. But, I want to do another one using nickel gap in a diamond like pattern (4 triangles that meet in the middle). Is there any easy way to do this or is it just a lot of tedious manual work using 3D solid?
