JonathanK
Has anyone used custom arrowheads with CA X17? Wondering what the thoughts are on them, and if anyone has had any issues. I am using a custom tick mark, as well as a custom leader arrowhead, and they look good, but when I go to change the color of a leader line it won't follow my rules that I put on it. I want the fill of the arrowhead to be a lighter shade of blue, or red, or grey, and the line to be a darker shade of blue, or red, or grey/black. I've attached a couple of screenshots on my settings, but not sure what I'm missing here. Looking for one of the pros to help me out. For reference, 4.jpg is a different style arrowhead, but the color scheme look I'm going for on this particular one.
DBCooper
Your new "bold" arrowhead just looks like a thick line. Unless it is a closed polyline, with an open area inside of it, you can't use a fill style. If it is a proper polyline that can have a fill, you might want to post your plan so someone can play with the settings.
JonathanK
It is a closed polyline. I attached the plan. Did a little more digging, and it looks like the fill is actually right, but it's the line around the arrow head that's making it look like it's not filling correctly. Which is interesting, because I have the line type in the block set to the blank line... Untitled 1.zip
Joe_Carrick
Make sure the line style of the polyline is 0 thickness. You may have to redefine it.
DBCooper
The arrowhead fill looks fine with line weights turned off. Can't see the fill with the line weights turned on because the lines are too thick. Even though the polyline is marked as having a line weight of 0, I think the arrow cad block is overriding the polyline settings for some reason. I didn't have much time to see if I could find a solution but maybe someone else can. Edited 20 hours ago by DBCooper
JonathanK
In the fille DBX, if you check "Use Block Fill Color" then the polyline line weight disappears. As soon as you select "Override Block Fill Color", it changes the lines of the arrow head to black, and makes them bold. There is no way to adjust this...that I can see. This is kind of annoying, as I like the simple narrow arrow head, but I want it "bolder".
JonathanK
It's the same with my custom "tick" for my dimension lines as well. I'm guessing people don't use this feature very often...
JonathanK
Another update...looks like the line weight of the arrow head is driven from the CAD, Default layer. Seems like the properties of the arrow head (regardless if it's custom or not) should be driven from the leader line or the dimension line...just like every other arrow head. Would this be considered a bug?...
