Understanding Needed

Dimension extensions missing AND foundation wall flipping around. I have been using chief for 8 months now and I really like it. I do have a couple questions about some things that happened in a recent plan that hopefully someone can explain. This plan was for the most part good to go with the exception of a few notes that needed to be added. The client did make some additional changes which I made. It involved adding a bath on the second floor and move a wall on the first. When I did my check of the drawings I noticed that some of the wall dimensions were missing from some walls that had dimensions before on the original check set.... These walls weren't touched in the changes. BUT the dimension line did pick up the wall that was being moved. I am trying to figure out what triggered the dimension extension falling off so I can know what to look for in the future when I make changes to a completed plan. Is this a common thing that happens? Anybody else experience this behavior?

Secondly, My foundations are combination of pony walls with 12" block on the bottom for brick ledge and 8" block on top to catch the slab. At the porches out changes to a 12" block all the way up to just under the slab to catch the porch and finish floor turn down. I have this looking the way I want on the foundation.

***Rebuild foundations is turned off.***

When I went in to make the small changes to the foundation I noticed that all of my 12" block walls under porches and garage transitions were reversed. The edge was inside the main slab rather than extending out underneath the porches which is what it was supposed to do. I used the "Reverse Wall Direction" tool to fix them.... Any thoughts on why this would happen? It was every one of those particular walls. This house was reversed, but before the original check set which showed everything correctly.

What concerns me on this is what else is disappearing or changing that I am not catching? Checking plans for random errors constantly is exhausting.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

The wall reversal issue sound like something caused by the room types adjacent to these walls. Plan reversal can cause room type switching as Chief 'remembers' where rooms were on the x,y grid. I'd be happy to take a quick look at a plan file to see if I notice something obvious.

To really dig into this, it would be worthwhile to get some paid help from someone or develop a friendship with a chief expert;) The plan file in its current state along with a plan file prior to those changes could be examined and discussed over a virtual meeting. Changes could be made and examined with troubleshooting in real time.

I do need some Chief expert friends for sure. :) I have done pretty well on my own so far. things like this seem like a glitch in the software. Like why do things like this happen arbitrarily? if its not arbitrary then I would like to know what the cause is so I can be aware of it.

Thanks @robdyckfor the idea to look at the old drawing and dig into this further. I just went in and I know the cause, but I don't know why. When I cut the wall to make the fireplace bump out the space was temporarily not a room. When that happened the walls flipped around. Knowing this will help me in the future. While it doesn't make sense at least I know what the cause was.
