Ed_Orum
Is there a method to edit an insulation rectangle? I would like the cross section view to look more professional, and to do that the insulation block needs to be angled on one side to match the roof angle. As it is now, I have to make a separate, smaller insulation block to fill in, but that makes the cross section and Chief look like it was drawn with one of those $25.00 CAD house design programs. Thanks in advance, Lane Here is the screenshot of the issue:
robdyck
You could make a series of insulation cad blocks adjusted for various roof slopes. Then add them to your library for future use. I've done this but mine all indicate blow-in insulation. And if you set the insertion point, it's single click placement from the library. 20250124-1636-28.0839244.mp4

Ed, I messed around with the CAD pattern maker tool to create a custom "S" hatch. You could then use in a polyline fill (See #1 below). Seems graphically pretty good IMO. You might be able to fine-tune the pattern so it reads better. Unrelated to your question, but #2 below also shows same hatch in an exterior stud wall as a quick experiment. (I've been wanting to use this for my exterior framed walls so that the hatch is automatic and therefore no need for the somewhat tedious batt tool). JKEdmo
Well, it turns out you can use the batt box tool within the pattern maker tool to create a repeatable batt hatch. Nifty.

rlackore Posted yesterday at 03:03 PM Share Posted yesterday at 03:03 PM 1. Shoot a Cross-Section view and place an insulation CAD Box: 2. Create a CAD Detail from View. This turns the insulation line into a polyline comprised of arcs and such: 3. This polyline can be easily shaped to fit roof slopes by dragging the center points of the arcs:
