Hello--I am very new to all of this. I am looking to import a DWG file into Chief Architect for 3D rendering use. Any guidance on where to look for assistance in achieving this would be helpful. I am using this for home remodeling purposes to give the homeowner a visual of what the designer is envisioning, additionally sharing this information with the general contractor team to achieve the look. The DWG file is from the architect and I am the middle man. Thanks!

For help with any question regarding Chief you can go to Chiefarchitect.com.  Along the top of the page, click on User Center.  The drop down menu will take you to Training Videos and also Knowledge Base where you can search for DWG imports.  This is one article explaining how to import a DWG file and then using the CAD to Walls tool.  You also have the option to import the DWG file and instead of using CAD to Walls, you can manually trace over the walls with Chief's wall tools.

P.s.  This forum is for Tips and Techniques.  If you post your question in the General Q&A forum you will get a lot more help.  :)

And if you find you need more help still, Chief offers Personal Training sessions.  Good luck!

Not sure to know or not being "New to this" but importing a DWG won't give you a 3D Model in Chief, all you get is the 2D AutoCAD Line work which you would then typically Trace Over with the Wall Tools etc.
