Is there a good way to display the stair count in Chief?  Way to set a minimum 10"depth at walk line for winders?

You can control the walk line in the stair dialog.  Take a look at the "style" page and click on the "help" button if it's not clear.

 

As for "stair count", not sure what you want but you might be able to get what you want with macros.  Stairs have a built in macro for %num_treads%.

That is great. I did not know this. I'm assuming they would also have a riser count?

If you mean a setting that builds winders to this criteria, then no, there is none.

 

And I gotta ask, because I have built a lot of stairs, who needs to see tread counts and riser counts on plans?  It could not be a plans examiner, or could it?  They are interested in things like maybe pitch and minimum tread depth, and certainly overhead clearances, but counts?
