reeded

very challenging to do as you would need all door sizes in order to keep the reeds the same size when a cabinet is 24" wide vs 9" wide for instance. Best approach here is using a reeded material so that it is generative based on width

Anyone know of a specific Chief cabinet catalog that offers a reeded door style? similar to this one of WoodModes.

TIA!

As Rene said, Its very hard to model a door which will change the number of reeds when the size is changed. The best way is to make the frame and use a bump or a normal map to create the reed lines for the middle part. Because the material will get tiled when the door is stretched.

I know this is an old thread but I was trying to figure it out myself and found a bit of a workaround... Thought I'd leave it here in case anyone else is looking for a solution :)

Tried the Alexandria door but as mentioned above, it looks terrible with multiple different sizes of doors/drawers.

This is what I do now:

Use the "Slim-Shaker" door from Cabinet Doors No. 2

Paint the center panel "Linear Narrow Glass" from Materials>Glass & Glazing>Textured Glass

Blend your cabinet colour with the linear glass. Then Adjust Material Definition to remove the transparency of the glass.

I've added it to some drawer fronts here - uniform through different widths:

This worked through an additional work around. Going on the basis of a material/texture version, I used this website called https://architextures.org/ and created a flutted or ribbed material and exported the different maps needed for a material. This worked great for a specific detail my clients were asking for. ONly adjustments I had to make were the sizing and rotation.

Check out the photo I have attached.

Thank you for the spark of inspiration on this.
