CCarpenter
How can I make a diamond shaped window - essentially a square window turned 90 degrees? There is no turn handle on windows. In the Transform/Replicate tool Rotate is grayed out when in a window. If I open it and go to shape or arch there is no arch that is applicable and in shape there's no way to rotate it either. I can't find a diamond window in Andersen or Marvin or in the Chief Architect Library. I know there has got to be a way and I'm sure it is simple and staring me in the face. Thanks for your help. DBCooper
Try a tudor arch, set the height of the arch to 1/2 the window height, don't specify a radius, and then check the box for reflect vertically. Pretty simple but not at all obvious and it sure would be nice if you could just rotate a normal window.
CCarpenter
Eric - Funny, my search - " Diamond Windows" did not have the same results. It only returned results for windows. If I had found an appropriate answer I wouldn't have posted the question. I'm glad the search worked for you, now you have the answer!
Leckie
Is there something I am missing? Why can I not select "reflect vertically"? I know it is always something silly that is left checked or unchecked. Thank you
SNestor
Create a "fixed" window 24"x24". Then go to "arch". Then select "dogear arch". Make the height 12" (or half of the window size). Select "reflect. DONE.
Leckie
Thank you Steve, That worked but had issues with reflect still.... Turns out I had to remove the sills for it to reflect. Thank you kindly for your advice.
