  1. Hey, thank you very much! I'll try it and yes, my file was open. I did not realize that it needed to be closed. Thanks for letting me know.
  2. Hi Folks - How can I get my stair railing to extend up to the ceiling and stop at the ceiling like the attached image. Right now it goes up and through the ceiling and through the upper railing. Thank you! 563 Site GABLE 9HT2.zip
  3. Eric - Funny, my search - " Diamond Windows" did not have the same results. It only returned results for windows. If I had found an appropriate answer I wouldn't have posted the question. I'm glad the search worked for you, now you have the answer!
  4. How can I make a diamond shaped window - essentially a square window turned 90 degrees? There is no turn handle on windows. In the Transform/Replicate tool Rotate is grayed out when in a window. If I open it and go to shape or arch there is no arch that is applicable and in shape there's no way to rotate it either. I can't find a diamond window in Andersen or Marvin or in the Chief Architect Library. I know there has got to be a way and I'm sure it is simple and staring me in the face. Thanks for your help. 5. Here's a zip file. Since my original post I changed the wall with the pocket door to a 2x6 wall and that fixed the issue. I know ideally it is better to have a 2x6 wall for a pocket door but they can be installed in 2x4 walls. As I've mentioned previously I've put pkt drs in 2x4 walls in models - in this model w/out any issues. so I'm not exactly sure what's happened. Thanks 14824 Reno wo roof 2.zip
  6. I've never had issues before placing a pocket door however, all of a sudden the portion of the wall where the pocket would be disappears. In fact, the wall with the pocket door was fine earlier and I just recently noticed that there is now an opening. I've tried putting a pocket door in various walls in the plan and continue to have this issue so I'm thinking it must be a setting but I'm not sure what. Thanks for your help! PKT DR.pdf
  7. There are 2 types of fence: - one is a simple hog wire (4x4) metal wire fence between 6x6 posts. I need a 6' H & a 4' H version - the other is a cedar fence with horizontal boards of 2 different sizes spaced apart. In places this will need to sit on top of a conc wall and I read in the forum the best way to do that is to use a pony wall with fence / railing above and a terrain break I've attached images of both. I downloaded the Chief Bonus catalog for Materials Wire & Lattice and modified the Welded Wire to have a 4" x 4" version but when I try to change my railing panels to it by going into the specification dialog it doesn't recognize the wires as an panel option. And for the cedar fence I'm not really sure how to approach it. There is a Horizontal Stacked Panel - thin, in the Ext Fence Panels No 2 library but I don't know how to modify it. If I made a custom panel (out of 3D lines) with posts at each end I don't see that I'm able to group it together and save it as a library piece and then distribute? Anyway, HELP! I know there's got to be an easier way
  8. Is there a way to modify existing (supplied with Chief) fence panels or create a custom fence design? None of the pre-made ones are quite right and I have a lot of fencing in this project. Thank you!
  9. Ok, thanks... that's what I was afraid of. Re-reading my posts I'm sorry my typing / English has been so bad! I have a client meeting this evening and haven't gotten much sleep. While I've gone around and cleaned up a lot and continue to advance the model - hopefully more correctly, I have a MESS in the stairwell that just somehow happened and I have been spending way too much time trying to figure it out. Anyway, thanks a bunch for your help. it's been great! I keep re-watching your videos - they're a great tool!
  10. Hey I'm just seeing this! I've been busy cleaning up my model Thank you! I've got a lot cleaned up but there are still a few areas that are just misbehaving. Ok, I got this rail / partition to work but I have a few questions: - Why a partition? What is the difference? How does it behave differently? - When I go to change the end post sizes it only let's me change one end. I actually like no end posts just to end with a baluster except at the intersection where the 4x4 is fine.- How can I make plain rectangular balusters? Thanks very mush again!
  11. Ok, thank you very much! I really appreciate the help!
  12. Ok, let's try this again. I added Chief Architect Premier X14 to my signatures but, in case it doesn't show up I'm mentioning here as well Here is a zipped reduced plan file and a couple of imbedded images. Besides the window and walls that aren't presenting correctly there is also a hole in the exterior wall next to the Loft / 2nd floor platform under the lower sloped roof and the edge of the Loft floor is open. One last thing, on the 1st floor I have a screen wall between the kitchen and hallway. I'd like it to end at the end of each wall segment but I can't make that happen. Thank you for your help I hope this format is better / correct. WReno.zip
  13. I'm not sure what is going on with this wall and how to fix it. I've tried different ways of constructing it as a pony wall and as attic wall and I can't get it to work. 1/2 is over a loft railing and the other portion is over an area that is open to below / above. I'd appreciate your help. See attached screenshot with issue and here's a link to the model. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AiaeNgmzhnQU8ywAbKfztoULsZ2y?e=uO3337 I'm using CA x14 for this project.
