Window Film Graphics

Good morning,

 

Adding a patterned window film on an interior window wall for visual privacy.  Very similar to this:

 

 

I have a couple of questions...

 

• does anyone know where I can get a "dots" or "squares" material graphic pattern for this?  (It seems Chief has frosted and reeded glass, etc. but no graphic patterns).
• as for technique, I just created a very thin 3D solid overlay on the glass.  Is there a better method?

There are some perforated metal materials that can be used on your 3D Solid , not sure how well it will work or how it'd look though.

 

You can also punch holes in that 3D Solid though and convert it to a symbol as well for future use.

Here is a film I created by adjusting the materials in a 3d solid to make it transparent, then applying a graphic.  You could likely use that solid as the window glass so that it would automatically be applied to the window, but then the dots would stretch according to the window size which is not way you are looking for I would guess.

I need to learn how to make a custom material "decal" using Photoshop or Gimp.
