Center Line Glyph

Recommended Posts

When using centerlines, which I often do for plumbing fixtures, the CL glyph for Center Line is always so far away from the dimension line that i causes me to place the line below too far away. Is there a way to adjust this?

Adam,

What  you do is to select and open the center line's dialog, go to the "Extentions" tab and select the center line extension, uncheck "Default" and then place a positive value to increase the distance from the dimension point or a negative value to move it towards the dimension point per instance of center line.

Adam,

As far as I know, you can't change the distance from the end of the extension to the centreline glyph.

The only thing you can do is select the extension line and drag the end of it towards the dimension line - the CL glyph will follow, BUT the distance between the end of the CL glyph and the extension line will stay the same.

As you can see from the attached pic, you can actually drag the end of the extension line beyond the dimension line.

The other alternative is to use a text box for the CL glyph and turn off Chief's one.

Thanks to both of you. I'll put in a feature request since moving each extension is tedious and inexact, not to mention that to move the CL where it should be forces the extension to no longer cross the dimension line.
