Mount a wall sconce on a post?

I have a pergola that I would like to mount wall sconces on the post. Is there a work around or procedure to do this since wall sconces only attach to walls?

Place your fixture on a wall or cabinet, click Open Symbol>Options>Floor Mounted, and then move it to wherever you want.

I think it needs to be initially placed on a wall. Place it on an exterior wall, the drag it to the post.

@Alaskan_Son beat me. Last time I did it I did not have to open the symbol though. I will try again.

Yep, did not have to open the symbol, just drug it over there.

Looks like that's probably a railing wall. If so, you're just attaching it to a wall.

Nope. I do my own post/beam porches most of the time. But I do create the posts with the soffit tool, maybe that's why.

Yup.  That would do it.  Soffits are cabinets.  You're just mounting your sconce to a cabinet which works just fine.
