Hey Folks,

Intermittent user here with a big issue. I've been a customer since X10, and have done most of my work in X11. I'm no professional here; just an owner/builder trying to build my own house. I finished my plan and set of construction documents last year, so I haven't been in the program much more than once a month or so for the past year. I was most recently in X11 a couple weeks ago with no issues at all. Tried to open up the program today with no luck. Desktop shortcut won't open on double-click, tried running the program from the file location, still nothing. Tried an uninstall/reinstall, same result. Saw in my digital locker that I could upgrade to X12, which I downloaded, and the same result there. Please help if you all have any ideas!

Correct, no message, the program doesn't respond at all. The silly little "loading icon" wheel spins for about two or three seconds, then nothing. All other programs are responding normally, I've got a good internet connection, a bit of 5GB of hard drive space.... And yes, I tried opening via a plan file and layout file as well. Same result. Weird, huh...

Hey Guys, update. I "deactivated" my license key, uninstalled all versions of CA from my computer, and moved a bunch of files to bring my free space on my hard drive from 5GB to around 20GB. Completely shut my computer down, disconnected from the internet. Restarted, reinstalled X11 and it is working normally now. Whew! Not sure which one of those was the issue, but it seems to be resolved. Thanks for all the suggestions, and take care!

Chief NEEDS to connect to the Registration Server every 10-14 days via the Internet for security reasons

or it can lock you out, so in this case that may have been the issue as all licenses since X10 now use the same

Serial No# , ie your Ser. No# is for the User , not the Version these days.

Mick.
