Nicinus
I've created a plan footprint with the corresponding command, and would like to place it on my site plan. However, Chief won't let me copy this item? How can I get it into my plan? Only by sending to layout and placing it on top in layout?
ebdesign
Create the plan footprint in the CAD Detail that is your site plan. If you create a plan footoprint while in plan, Chief creates a CAD Detail to display it. You can't copy/paste a plan footprint.
Solution Gawdzira Posted November 26, 2014 Solution Share Posted November 26, 2014 What is is that you want? If I am to guess I would think you may be looking to get an outline of your building on your site plan? If that is the case, select just outside of your building and the entire exterior perimeter will highlight. Then go the to the attached image and make an exterior room polyline which you can place on a layer ("Building Outline Dashed") or whatever you might want to call it. Copy and paste at will into your site plan or any other plan view.
Nicinus
Thanks, very elegant solution. Amazing how it sometimes locks your thinking when there is a function that you are supposed to use and you try all sorts of ways to get that to work as you want. Kiwideziner
remeber that gives you an outline of the cladding, not necessarily the foundation.
Nicinus
Thanks Grame, that actually did occur to me and I created the polyline from my foundation level.
