automatic framing on exterior landings

Is the  a way to have an exterior landing framed automatically with its required support posts  so it isn't floating in mid air? I alway go back and add the posts manually, but wonder if there is an easier way to do this now.

Have you tried creating a little deck room to frame the landing?

And just before you make the little deck room that Michael suggests, take note of the top elevation of the landing. Use that to set the floor height of your deck landing.
