New wall types

Recommended Posts

Good morning,

I'm a new user to Chief and I have just upgraded from HD 2020.  Is there a way to create a wall type "Demo" so that one can show existing wall/s to be removed?  I figured out how to change the hatching on interior walls for graphic display but it changes all of them.  I want to keep certain existing walls and demolish others at specific locations.  A point to a video tutorial is greatly appreciated?

Just make a copy of the existing wall type and change the line styles, fills, etc.  You can rename the copy "demo wall" or whatever you want.  Then select the existing wall and change it to your new wall type.

It would also be a good idea to save your new wall types to the library so you can use them in other plans in the future.

Give me a call. I will show you how I approach this. I have time this afternoon. My way is very easy. 832-754-6160.

Here is a suggestion for learning the software.

Take some time every day, maybe an hour or 2 and watch videos on the Chief site, with the goal of watching them all.

Chief also has a YouTube channel and the videos there are also worth watching.

You will build up a base of knowledge and be able to answer many of your own questions.

Searching for a video or article is also a good exercise for the new user.

Yes, thank you and I am doing just that.  I suspect I am among the crowd that finds somethings frustrating because there is not a Sawzall button and a hammer button, lol

"Help" button is an excellent source.  You might consider that an excellent substitute for a Sawzall button and a hammer button
