All I actually need is a piece of glass mounted on the wall with stand-off brackets. The problem I have is that i have no idea where to begin.

 

I have attached a screenshot.

I would use solids (polyline solids). You even have a section you could import, scale if needed and trace for the brackets.

In the example below, I used a p-solid for the glass, and 6 standoffs. I made these before the Indital Library was available. 7 Pieces. Super easy.

Thanks all, I used the polyline solid and managed to create exactly what I wanted. Brilliant pointers from you all. Thanks again.
