What is the difference between Pattern and Textures?

Is it possible to make a Mural on an Exterior Wall in CA

Is the siding on building truly a 3D element or just an image

I am trying to get the effect of an actual painted mural on an exterior wall.

Like it is actually painted on the siding.

So it looks realistic.

Thanks

Yes. Search KB for importing a picture -- think picture on a wall.

If it were 3D, you could see it in a cross section.

Good luck.

This is an image applied to a molding shaped roughly like siding. Done quickly and rather poorly.

Is this what you had in mind?

The molding takes the place of the siding in the 3D view.

There may be (probably is) a better (easier) way.

Maybe start a new thread with a more descriptive title and others might comment.

I am still struggling with this.

Even when using the "Material Region" I get an unwanted result. (Pict#1)

I am trying to get this result, which is done in Adobe AI (Pict#2)

Looking for the easiest way to accomplish.

Once again I'm sure it's something simple I'm overlooking.

I have created a "Material" named Mural1_Pig, which is in the library.

It is a PNG transparent file.

I am just trying to get it on the exterior Red Wall.

I am new to CA and need detail explanation.

Thanks to All !

Here is what has worked best for me.

Create a new wall type just for the red wall. Add a new layer outside the siding, making it 1/128" thick. Any material should work.

Change that wall to the new wall type.

Select your image in the library and paint on the red wall.
