  1. To anybody that is interested, I am giving access to my revised configuration file for the 3D Connection devices and Chief Architect X15. Keep in mind this is a work in progress. Chief X15.zip
  2. I invested in a ibypower desktop for around $2,400 to $2,600 about a year ago. Windows 10 Professional 64-bit Edition Intel Core i7-10700K @ 3.8 Ghz, 8-Core 16-Thread CPU 16 GB DDR4-3000 Mhz RAM 512 GB m.2 NVME SSD nVidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with 8 GB of GDDR6 RAM I have since increased the ram to 32 GB's. I also have purchased a Samsung Pro 970 1 TB M.2 NVME SSD. I never got around to installing the new drive / cloning the old drive.
  3. I once post on a similar but related topic. I think whenever we are presented with an option to select a material we should always get an option to select a material default category. Secondly, I have always wanted the ability to modify the Material Default Categories list just like we are able for the room types. Implementing this would likely fix the OP's issue an complaint.
  4. I have added (saved) a bunch of Door / Window items to my "User Library" that includes a variety of information already typed out in the object information text boxes. However, I am noticing it is not keeping (saving) what I have typed for "Manufacturer" I keep losing this "Manufacturer" information. I have sent this in as a bug.
  5. I don't know why but, doing so allowed me to view the webinar.
  6. If you click on the link and register, it will allow when to view the recording.
  7. A tool won't activate if your not on a screen that allows the tool activate or have a dialogue box open or maybe even another tool open.
  8. For Chief Architect X15, I only have created 5 radial menus at this point in time. I haven't got around to creating anymore but, will at some point in the future. I have recently starting using the 3D connections keyboard and have been using the 3D Connexion SpaceMouse Compact and their CAD Mouse. I don't have any experience with using the Space Mouse Pro or Space Mouse Enterprise.
  9. I have mine stored in the wall type definition's dialogue box and saved as a part of my template file. Everytime I open my template file I have all my wall-types handy. You can export your wall-types using the export function and then save as a DAT file. Then in your new template file you can import by selecting the file you previously saved.
  10. I actually signed up to see the webinar but ended up missing it because of work, I have yet receive a link to the replay. Their e-mail links to the what's new page but, not the actual video replay of the webinar.
  11. My 3D Connections configuration file for X15 is attached below if it is of any assistance to you. I think one can use the file to import the radial menus I created and link to buttons on their 3D connections device. Chief X15.zip
  12. Here is an example of a radial menu I created for walls. It takes a little bit of time to set these up. These all incorporate the "Alt" key and navigating the drop-down menus via the keyboard.
  13. Here is pictures of the actual macro.
  14. My macro for Exterior Walls is this... Corresponds to the underlined portion of text when pressing "Alt" and navigating the drop-down menus with the keyboard. Alt + B (Build Dropdown Menu) W (Wall Sub-Menu) E (Straight Exterior Wall) Image Icon Files can be found in the folder... You can manually add (link) them to your macro. C:\Program Files\Chief Architect\Chief Architect Premier X15\resources\buttons
  15. I hope hope so. I do wish you all at Chief Architect the best knowing we are facing interesting times. Your software has really been a blessing to me and my work at Michigan Dutch Barns.
  16. I think this type of business model encourages a company to get lazy on rolling out updates and further developing software and making it better. I despise AutoDesk for going down that road.
  17. I figured it out. I was using the wrong bracket. color = owner.custom_fields["Panel - Color"] Originally I was trying to use... color = owner.custom_fields{"Panel - Color"} Thank You
  18. If owner.component_code references the "Code" data field under object information, what would use to reference a custom object field? I have custom object field named "Panel - Color" Can I even reference a custom object filed. This is in regards to Ruby script / Ruby code.
  19. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! You are a life saver. I was beginning to think it couldn't be done.
  20. I started to draw my first floor (main level) floor plans on the 2nd level. A lot of chief users do this to reserve the 1st level for an actual basement and the foundation level for the foundation walls supporting the basement walls. Is there any way to adjust or manipulate the elevation dimensions (call-outs) so they reference the second level being at 0?
  21. I am currently using my template file in Chief Architect that I started probably way back in X8 or X9. I keep importing it into the newer versions and reusing it. I have had no major issues except for a few quirks when trying to generate a ray-trace. I am guessing starting a brand new template file from scratch would solve that.
  22. What are your recommendations for a SketchUp year version to be use with Chief Architect? I am trying to import an item I drew in SketchUp 2022 into Chief Architect Premiere X14. The Item displays fine in SketchUp but, I get some wonkyness in Chief.Architect Premiere X14. Door Slab - Cross Bucks - Half.skp
  23. I use TurboPDF V4 from IMSI Design. It's essentially a rebranded version of FoxIt Phantom PDF Standard program. Serves me well and carries around a $100 price tag but, it is perpetual software. Perpetual software is hard to find these days.
  24. I have a scenario where a window is installed above a stair. Inspector is requiring safety glazing (tempered glass) for the window. I mistakenly ordered the window without tempered glass. I am wondering how you guys narrow down where the walk surface of a stair a stair is? Depending on where one figures the walk surface has a effect on whether a window would need to have safety glazing.
  25. I live in West Michigan but, it would be neat to travel to Indy for a user group meeting.
