  1. Hey Larry, Thanks so much for doing the videos. You may have inadvertently answered my question while you were shuffling through the process. So, kudos!! It works now as I desired. I was trying to arc the arrow while I drawing it and before typing my text. Now I realize the arrow is manipulated after being drawn. Works great! -DG
  2. I'm trying to get the arrow that comes with the Text w/Leader line to be an arc. I am aware of the separate Arrow w/Arc function but that requires two steps to link with text. I prefer to do both in one step.
  3. Uh. It didn't work. Hold the ALT key while drawing the arrow or after it has been created? Could there be a setting that may override the ALT key application?
  4. Embarrassed to even ask but is there a way to set the text line with arrow as an arc? I see it on other's plans and have wanted to incorporate into my plans for quite a while. This seems like a basic default setting but I'm not seeing where to do so. I'm sure I'm missing something very simple. Thanks is advance for your help. -DG
  5. Thanks Joe. Will do. I'll let CA know tomorrow. Learn something every day. -DG
  6. Thanks all. Several of the things that you tried are also what I tried. It has been frustrating as the problem seems to come and go. It seems obvious it's not my computer as it's happening to others which eliminates at least one thing. I played with the defaults and also noticed that sometimes it helped and other times not so much. This includes changing recessing windows, changing molding mfg., increasing depth of casings, overlapping of casing, all kinds of things. I think the roof positioning is off where the bumpout intersects with the main section of roofing. That is pointed out in Solver's observations. I will go back and try to fine tune it a little. Joe, I just tried what you recommended and that seems to be it! CA can be pretty moody and obstinate at times. Thanks everyone for the input. I hope you're all having a great Memorial holiday weekend.
  7. Has anyone seen or been affected by this condition? On my exterior 3D renderings, whether in PBR or standard, the door and or window casings will sometimes become semi-transparent. I have played around with several things including increasing the casing thickness, adjusting ambient occlusion, adjusting window thickness, adjusting framing, etc. I haven't had this problem before and can't seem to understand what's causing it. Attached, are some renderings that depict condition. I can include plan if that would useful Any input would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
  8. Brian, I see in yesterday's release that the Ambient Occlusion problem has been rectified. In all but the Physically Based rendering options, everything is working like it did in X9. Thanks for following through with this. Now, the Physically Based rendering technique is blacking items out in what appears to be a random order. I have attached a side by side comparison as an example. The first sample is Standard and the second is Physically Based. Notice the white soffit/crown molding? It turns from white to black. I just noticed the door on the left also turned black. Any ideas what this may be and how to solve? Thanks in advance.
  9. That's true. Good suggestion. Just seems like the component should be viewable in plan view after placing into the cabinet like an appliance is.
  10. In 3D view the two separate trash/recycling bins are present. In plan view, only the placed bin shows. It seems one serves a purpose and the other another purpose.
  11. I thought the same but don't want to deal with the mess it creates; Double components in each cabinets would be hard for me to remember and difficult to explain to clients. Thanks for your input though Mick.
  12. Yep. I did that also but it isn't really making the component part of the cabinet. It's just setting it inside the cabinet box. It can't be operated like a drawer or door as it should.
  13. I created a drawer then went into the drawer specification DBX and called out the Rev-A-Shelf item from the library.
  14. I played with that but it only shows an outline of a single rectangle representing a general drawer box and not a double waste basket outline unfortunately.
  15. I have placed a double bin Rev-A-Shelf drawer in a cabinet. Everything worked fine but I am unable to get the bins to display in plan view. The plan view just shows a cabinet with counter top and doesn't include bin outline. Is it an option to do so? If so, what do I need to do to achieve? I don't want just a label on the cabinet. I want it to show the outline of the bins to simplify the plans for my client. I can place a Re-A-Shelf item in or on the cabinet without incorporating into the drawer specs but that only looks good for plan views but isn't the correct way. I also don't want redundancy of having two sets of bins in a cabinet. Thanks in advance. Chief Architect Signature.docx
  16. Thanks David, That works great. I was able to manipulate the size a little also so all is good. Thanks to you too Mick. I have been getting a lot of demand for this simple, classic design element.
  17. This screen capture shows the Clopay option on the left and the Sketchup sample I found. Both have texture I don't want and I don't know how to make a smooth finish as in my sample.
  18. Thanks Mick, I don't know how many times I have tried to enter my signature information unsuccessfully. No time today to worry about it but thank for pointing it out. Here is a pic showing the type of shiplap I'm referencing.
  19. Greetings. I've been searching for a basic, nickel-gap, shiplap siding sample with SMOOTH texture to apply to ceiling planes in a plan. The best I can find is one with a wood grain finish which does not work for my application. I am trying to create a modern, clean lines look. Can someone suggest where to find one or have one they would be willing to share? White would be the color I'm seeking but I should be able to modify to suit. Thanks in advance.
  20. Thanks Graham. That's a little embarrassing. Seems like a basic function I should have known.
  21. Does anyone else get this cursor 'tag along'? It's the image for terrain build that somehow gets bonded with my crosshair/pointer and I don't know if I'm causing it or if it's a glitch or both! I don't seem able to shake it. Even closing the program, restarting, etc. doesn't seem to help. Any input would be appreciated.
