  1. Thanks for your idea. I wasn't able to get the Materials Region option to give me the depth but was able to manipulate the niche to accomplish this.
  2. Anyone know how to achieve this Gothic wall niche detail which also contains a window? Tried superimposing the niche function over a window but that blocked the window from being clear to the outside view. (See rendering) Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
  3. Disappointing the program isn't more flexible especially on a popular item like a shutter. Thanks for the input all.
  4. Having a problem getting a bonus shutters to arch mirroring the window shape. Standard library shutters seem to have no problem but I want to use one from the bonus library (or possibly a custom). Is there a trick I'm unaware of? Don't see any boxes to check or uncheck that may make a difference. Have reviewed older post that addresses similar question but didn't see my exact situation. Thanks in advance.
  5. The custom muntin/divided light tool is pretty cool once you get the hang of it.
  6. Would appreciate any assistance in trying to recreate the attached window. Need it include the divided lights as shown in photograph. The angle of the curves don't seem to cooperate. Tried the sample in the basic library but the divided lights don't align. Tried each of the window manufacturers and didn't find a reasonable option. I'm sure I'm missing a simple solution but just haven't found it. Thanks in advance. First picture is of actual window Second image was created trying to combine units and adjusting arch. Third image is from the basic library.
  7. I have an X14 license I would like to sell. Please contact me via PM at: woodland@usfamily.net Thanks -DG
  8. Thanks Eric. Is there a way to remove the 'extra' ceiling plan created above the loft area?
  9. Hopefully this helps. Stacia Rivers Concept AA.zip
  10. I've played with this quite a bit and don't see what I'm doing wrong. I need the ceiling plane to extend evenly over the loft area I've created. For some reason the program wants to make a break in the manually drawn ceiling planes. I've played with the flat ceiling DBX, ceiling heights, etc. but don't see where the error is. Any help would be appreciated. If forwarding the plan helps I can do so. Thanks in advance.
  11. Thanks. I thought a Shape option was needed (like in the window DBX) to achieve the goal. Easier using the 'match roof pitch' button but possible with angle modifications.
  12. Is it possible to create angled doors that follow roof/ceiling pitches? I've combed the archives but don't see anything regarding this. I would like the ability to angle doors like we are able to do with windows through the DBX. I've attached a picture of the scenario I'm trying to recreate.
  13. Thanks Chopsaw. Spoke with CA and they emphasized going with one of those also but thought the Radeo Pro 'could' work.
  14. Considering a computer with this graphics card. Anyone have experience or knowledge with or of it? Any feedback would be appreciated. I'm a non-computer person that just wants to design architecture.
  15. Thanks all for your input. It seems comments are mixed regarding Chief's ability to produce this project as I suspected they might be.
  16. Does anyone have experience creating construction drawings for a custom steel staircase using CA? (see attached image) Something similar to this is desired. I have been ask to do so but feel CA is too limited in it's ability. I assume one could spend hours creating custom P-solids and eventually a workable plan but don't know if it's worth the effort. It sounds like maybe the version 13 update may allow more control over this function but right now I don't think it's reasonably attainable. Thoughts? Ideas? Experience?
  17. Has anyone tried to use CA for creating metal stairways plans for a fabricator? I have a request to do so and am apprehensive about being able to create drawings with enough detail. -DG
  18. Thanks Mick. No. I'm not familiar with Paint. I don't think I ever used it. I'll try to experiment with the suggestions you forwarded. -DG
  19. Thanks all. What basic image editor program would you recommend? I think the only one I have is Paint but it's probably 10 years old.
  20. I reviewed this older posting: http://www.chieftalk.com/showthread.php?65927-varying-lap-siding-reveal and was able to successfully download the pattern created. What I don't understand is how one transfers that pattern to the texture file for 3D viewing? I'm hoping it's easier to do this now as the posting dates back to 2014? Here's the elevation view with the intended siding pattern: Now to just get the material to follow.
