All, Have been experimenting a little with X10 and noticed the backdrop menu that was under the 3D menu in X9 is no longer. Anyone know where it went? Thanks in advance. -DG

Convert Drawings to ChiefArchitect Rendering
WoodlandDesign replied to Grand0791's topic in Seeking Services
I concur with Eric. Many, many variables involved in bringing plans to life. Post or email what you can to those of interested in the work and we can give you an informed decision. Thanks much. -
Just figured the ceiling planes out Eric. There were no ceiling plane defaults entered hence blank airspace. Not sure why these default changes have occurred but problem solved for now. Thanks for your help. It's greatly appreciated. -DG

Thanks Eric. Don't know how those got changed. Could that be related to the ceiling planes not displaying?

All, I need a little assistance with my soffit planes please. As shown in the attached pic, the soffits seem to be floating and are separated from where they should be located. I must have checked a box in the roof defaults but can't find the source. Related, I think is the fact that in 3D viewing the ceilings planes are non-present also. I'm assuming they are a related problem but maybe not. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help. -DG

Problem with Deck Railing Cuttting Wall Surface
WoodlandDesign replied to WoodlandDesign's topic in General Q & A
I think I know what you mean. I pulled the wall from the floor below up to reach the desired height on this floor. I don't know if it's the correct way to do it or not but it allowed me to place the railing at the desired height. -

I don't think I know what you mean with a two wall method. Is it something worth spending time on now for future situations? -

Problem with Deck Railing Cuttting Wall Surface
WoodlandDesign replied to WoodlandDesign's topic in General Q & A
I have used this tool and pulled the railing wall back and the stucco wall back MANY times to no avail... It seems like something is overriding this function but I don't know what it would be. Thanks -
Hello all. I am having a very strange problem with the deck railing wall function. As you can see in my screen capture the deck railing is 'cutting' the exterior wall surface material leaving a void. This is where it get interesting: It only does it where the LEFT deck railing meets a wall not on the RIGHT! I have tried many things including rebuilding the walls, using the Edit Wall Intersection function, changing the lock wall function, etc. I am scratching my head and don't understand what I'm missing or if this is a common glitch of the program. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance Picture on left shows problem. Same railing on right, no problem? .

WoodlandDesign replied to TexasMProsPlus's topic in Seeking Services
Hi. If everyone else is still scared away from your offer, I would be open to discussing. I agree that specifics and detailed contracts make this quite possible. I do much of my designing ONLY from pictures that clients provide me. Unless I'm missing something I'm not sure what people's hesitations are. Anyway, let me know if you are still of need. Thanks much. Doug Galler Principal -
