  1. Is it me or did this plan bog down anyones system? Never had that happen before.
  2. That was the culprit....Thanks Robert!
  3. I am also receiving this message on a current plan, wondering if there was ever a solution to this item? I just submitted a ticket also.
  4. Not yet no. Will that trigger the build down? Edit; Just did.....didn't work
  5. Searched and found a few sill gap questions, but nothing that seems to pretain to my issue. I swear this is just something that happens every once and a while, and for whatever reason I'm a goon and can't solve it. Attached is a plan, please take a full perspective overview and note the gap on top of the foundation. This particular house has a double sill plate, please tell me how do I get the exterior wall covering to go to the top of the foundation. Thanks in advance! 8 Crestview Drive As-Built 10-20-14.plan
  6. If you're not intimidated by building a computer, you'll get the absoluted most bang for your buck by building one. I've built my last 3 desktops with top of the line components for around $1000 each. The people over at http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ provide an amazing resource, tell them what your needs are and they'll search out the best parts for the best prices at the time. They'll give you a complete breakdown of what you need to buy (with links attached).......you just buy it and put it together.....piece of cake! Best part is, they charge you all of NOTHING for their services! Even if you are hesitant on building a computer, all the information you'd ever need is online, it really isn't that difficult. Good Luck!
  7. Larry- I know it's a tad late and a bit off topic, but I wanted to commend you on your cornice example raytrace you posted. It's seeing high-end work like that, that drives me to become a better designer (that is a really sharp drawing). Thanks and keep up the great work!
  8. I'm almost sure I said "in my opinion" (which I thought was speaking for myself), I didn't think that meant "I Bob, speaking on behalf of all CA users".....guess I'll keep my thoughts to myself next time.
  9. Absolutely, There is much more beneficial help out there before I go near any SSA videos. For me, Chief Experts, these forums, Chief Tutor and Youtube provide much more helpful information.
  10. While I'm not a fan of "SSA" at all, I am a huge supporter of the program itself. Where this program has come from when I started using it (v9 or v9.5), it's amazing
  11. You are correct. You'll still be able to use CA, just no SSA features or upgrades (which in my opinion is a waste of money anyway, just CA's way of sticking it to us)
  12. Yeah...what he said!
  13. Hi Lew, In hindsight i would've put it on a thumb drive and saved time. I just made the mistake yesterday of thinking it was just some quirky random download issue, but it doesn't seem that way. I downloaded 4gb's worth of data today in less than 10 minutes, so i don't think it's on my end.
  14. What in the world is wrong with the initial 228mb download to install X6? I put it on one computer yesterday and it took 20 minutes to download it, right not I'm putting it on another and it's taking 30 minutes. Is this just me or is this something that CA controls and it being cheap?
  15. Check this video out, it will get you going in the right direction (you'll have to convert the sides to arcs to get that flare) http://www.chieftutor.com/terrain/twall.html Hope it helps!
  16. Are you saying you can operate Chief by shortcuts alone? If that's the case, then you da man!
  17. No problem, It's all about helping/getting help (in my case, getting) and hopefully a few laughs along the way!
  18. Yeah, well that wasn't intended for you.......was for the OP, my bad for not quoting him. Will make a note to be more observant in your presence.....geesh
  19. If you don't post it, it never happened
  20. I really really attempted to read the first post through and understand it (which left me shaking my head). To see the comments following it, had me laughing out loud!
  21. Yikes! Glad you pointed that out though. What I don't get and was kind of my original question is; Why have I never seen this type of shading before (never seen anything turn black like that, and I don't ever change the sun angle)? After I changed the trim color and got it to look like I normally see it (no black like before), there was some shadowing (obvious stuff), but nothing to the extent where this started from. I know sometimes it just best to just deal with it and move on, not to put too much thought into it......this might be one of those! Thanks Joey
  22. I wish that was it, not the case here. Download the file and check it, you'll see.
  23. BTW- I spent $604 bucks in Jan '12 for the system I am currently using, and it still runs CA without breaking a sweat! I can only imagine what's available 2 years later...
