Yep, many times over the years, weddings, banquets, family dinners, ect.... Great place, good food!

Vinnie- I was in your boat last year. I stumbled across "Tom's Hardware Forum", if you're comfortable ordering/assembling the system on your own, you can't beat this place.....best of all IT"S FREE!!! All you need to do is go to the Hardware>Systems section, enter the system requirements for CA, and tell them you want a system that will run this program with ease. Not long after that, one of their great guys will get back to you with a complete breakdown of what you need, where to get it, and how much it will cost (and they take pride in making sure they find you the best deal at the time). I'll say, I was shocked after finding such a valuable resource, just not much like it out there today. Even the gentleman that handled my computer was readily available for any questions I had throughout the assemble process and beyond. Check it out, you can't go wrong! http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/

Yup.....no luck. I think when I originally created that paint color I screwed something up. Don't know what or how, that's my gut.

Another vote for Chiefexperts.com, best money I ever spent. When I joined, it was a one time payment to everything Dan had done in the past, and going forward. Just a bit more than the foolish SSA that CA offers and you'll be good to go (that is, if you want to put in the time). Chieftutor.com also good for reference (as well as this forum)! Good luck!

Well....after screwing around with my funky trim for much longer then necessary, I just gave up and put an adjusted color on it. Unfortunately, there was no light/sun/shadow/shade tweaking that did anything. I feel pretty safe saying it was something quirky. The pic below is typical for shadows, no black anything. On to the next!

I've done it with mixed results (and the lesser results were no fault of mine). I agree with Lew and David's thinking.

UGH! Went into preferences and under preview "show shadows" was not checked. So I checked it just to see what would happened, it added even more shadows. I unchecked it closed the file (didn't save the changes) and the dang things are still around. I'm going to have to poke with this for a bit. So strange that this has never happened before.

Thanks guys! I had just checked to see if it was the"blend with" and that wasn't it. Also right clicked to toggle sunlight was a no-go. Joe- Wierd that it's the sun direction (but happy to have an answer), I've never had that issue before. Any idea why this would randomly happen? Thanks Joe and Electromen!

Hi there everyone! I know it's Sunday but thing has me scratching my head. Can someone let me know why half the exterior color on this project is Red (which is the correct), and half is black (not right). I've dont the material eyedropper and just tried to paint it, but it won't change. It's like the house has been divided diagonally the way it's off.......Help! Attached is the plan and a pic. Thanks in advance! Bob 186 Cockle Cove Road Chatham.plan

Piggybacking an addition roof on to existing (w/trusses)
BFogarty replied to BFogarty's topic in General Q & A
HA! glad I could help you out, lol I know what you mean though, sometimes it's good to get a bump in the road just as a personal test. Unfortunately I failed this one BTW, you don't have to re-do it in X5, the instructions you left were very good, thx! -

Yikes! Should something like this be so complacated? I never would've thought so. Downside is I haven't upgraded to X6 yet so I can't open your plan Thanks Mike for taking the time to sort that out! -
Piggybacking an addition roof on to existing (w/trusses)
BFogarty replied to BFogarty's topic in General Q & A
I'm sorry but I didn't want to start a new thread because this pretains to the same issue. Can somebody take this plan and get trusses to run on top of the existing split level? I am able to draw a structure where the overlapping roofs ridge is below (using a truss base) and everything works fine. Problem I'm having is with the overlapping roofs ridge is above, I am getting a "coplaner" error. This should be so simple and is really starting to piss me off! Thank you to anyone that has the time to mess with my headache! Plan is attached 157 Main St. with addition v1.plan -

Thanks Mike! I don't do much with trusses, but I didn't expect this issue. Now to move forward! -
I'm sorry but I can't figure why the heck this is getting me. Looking to add trusses on to an existing roof that will taper down in the valley. Problem I am having is, anything I do drops down to the existing roof. Any help would be greatly appreciated! -Bob 157 Main St. with addition v1.plan
