But if you look carefully at the screen shots provided you will see the elevation is 42" and a thickness of 1.25", I included this dialog window to show this info, because I knew someone might think what you are saying, because the polygon solid has ben on the floor before and I could not find it.
I don't think you understood...if that polyline solid is on the second floor, the height would need to be 42" plus thje hieght of the first floor structure, first floor walls, and 2nd floor structure. Absolute elevation is always increasing starting at the bottom all the way to the top.
-
Another possibility is that the polyline solid is actually on the floor below. The "Elevation" height for a polyline solid is for the absolute elevation, not the elevation above the floor, like a countertop.
Don't know whether you're right or not, but good call sir. I wouldn't have thought of that.
-
To me it looks like a height, or layer on thing. If it was z-fighting you would see it b/c its larger than the rail top.
You're right. I totally missed that. I didn't study it long enough.

...not all brands use India for tech support...
I realize that. I was just making a point.
I prefer to have the guy who actually built the system deal with any necessary service or repairs.
-
It looks like you're getting some light bleeding. Try turning off the sun before ray tracing and see if that helps.
-
I have my computers built and configured by a local "computer guy". That way you get exactly what you need, a little more money stays local, and your service is nearby instead of India.
-
So...I guess you won't be posting the plan.

I got similar results as you Lew. I have a feeling the file was exported incorrectly.
And word on the street is that the best free AutoCAD-like software is DraftSight.

...The question is "How did I create it?"
You're not forgetting things already are you?? I'm just kidding, but this quote is just begging for Scott to show up and start commenting on how old you are : )

This my friend is a very very good tip. The more I think about it, the smarter it is. Boy, do I feel like a Duffis. Thanks michael, I just changed my Methodolgy for many typical conditions.
Jeez I feel stupid.
Wow...that makes me feel special : )

I have a similar problem. I built a house and it looks good in plan. But when I do a floor overview I see nothing. Can you help me.
I would post a picture and the plan, but I am too busy. Would you guys mind guessing what the problem is.
I understand that I am not paying you for your time to help me, and I probably will not look at this thread for another week, but please help.
Did you check your references?
-
I am guessing (and why on earth do I do this?) that the thingymabob that you show in plan on top of the wall is not higher than the counter top.
Thats kinda what I was suspecting as well. Looks to be a little z-fighting on the edge of the sink like there are 2 countertops in the same general space.
-
Todd,
Can you attach the plan? It will eliminate all the guesswork.
-
You might be suprised all the things you can make with little "cabinets". You can also use the slab tool, mouldings, framing, and any other number of tools to create those little parts. Once built I usually put them on their own "Custom cabinet parts" layer so they're not displayed in plan view.

#5 hit add to post button for each pic.
That isn't necessary. Doing that just inserts the images into the body of the post rather than as an attachment at the end.

That's a pretty incomplete story and a bit deceiving. Actually The United States is barely outside the top 10 and two MAJORNot really. The U.S. pays the most and has the slowest internet speeds of just about any other developed nation. Monopolies anyone?
factors that aren't mentioned...
1. Population density...The simple infrastructure required to supply high speed internet access to our relatively low population density and sprawling land mass is huge. I didn't look at all of them, but I would venture to guess most if not all those countries higher than us on the list have much higher population densities and the population is much more concentrated within those countries, therefore they need less infrastructure which makes it cheaper and therefore more affordable.
2. I think you will find several of the countries higher on the list also have somewhat if not entirely nationalized broadband service (at least heavily subsidized and mandated) which would make the true cost highly questionable at best.

Michael,
So what you are saying is that for Polylines you use the Polyline Union Tool and for Polyline Solids you use mostly the Polyline Solid Intersection and Subtraction Tools. Is that correct?
That is correct Joe. Sorry, I wasn't really thinking the tools had different names for 2D vs. 3D work, but you're right.
-
I might note that I typically use the union tool for 2D. The others I find most useful for 3D.
-
I've used the union tool quite a bit, and I think the subtraction tool for a custom door once, but never the intersection tool. I imagine if I started doing more primitive modeling I would use that as well though to get some more complex shapes.

How can I change the wall Elevation symbol, make it smaller, or remove it? I have tried to turn layers off, but nothing. I have tried settings but now I need help please.
See attachment below...The way the camera label is displayed can be customized quite a bit. Specific to your question, you can change the callout size to something smaller or even zero and delete the label.
Not sure why you can't get the callouts to disappear by turning the layer off. I would guess the cameras are actually open or you accidentally placed them on a different layer that is still on.

The Cabinet needs to be very small with a half-round Edge Molding on the Countertop. In this case I used a 6" Tall Edge Molding and a 3" corner radius on the top itself.
That's exactly what I was thinking Joe...at least one of the ways. I'm not by my computer again but the other way I imagine it would work was using appropriately sized bow front or radius and cabinets with appropriately sized half round or quarter round mouldings.
-
I haven't actually looked into my internet speed for sometime. Turns out we're on a 768K plan which they don't even offer anymore, so I guess I'm getting exactly what I'm paying for. I can get up to a 20M plan but it looks like thats as fast of service as our carrier here will provide.
I was pefectly happy with my service before this thread now all the sudden it seems super slow...
Thanks a lot Scott.
Edit: It looks like my subdivision is one of a lucky few that has fiber optic lines buried and so I can get up to 75M internet service. Sounds intriguing but costs like $150 a month vs. I think $45.

The problem of three singles stuck together is the styles are doubled. I am using inset-framed. Our shop builds custom pieces to size and would prefer a single 90" over (3) 30" in some applications.
We also use a lot of custom built larger "one piece" units. I simply change the stiles to half of what I want them to be (i.e. 3/4" instead of 1-1/2") which solves the double stile issue.

2 other options...
1. Place the knobs manually
2. Adjust the height of the handles from top till they both work. I can usually get this to work close enough for most drawings.
