  1. Is there a tutorial or method, in Chief, for drawings a 3D shade sail?
  2. My captured colours were captured as material and are currently in my user catalog, but this is not accessible from my material menu
  3. How do I transfer capture materials (Dulux colours) to 'my texture' so I can create a material showing these capture colours. I did this quite a few years ago because my custom file contain my 'back then' captured texture, but I can't remember how to do it.
  4. Is there a door menu system that allows a single lock and handles for a double-hinged door? Either on the right or left-hand door leaf only. I only need the latch system on one door as the other door is fixed with internal barrel bolts. The door menu only appears to have an auto lock for both doors
  5. What is the best method to custom draw a single 50 Ø SS handrail to the outside of an enclosed stairwell? I need the handrail to extend 300mm level with a 180º curved return end beyond the bottom step (AS1428.1 accessible compliance). I have a landing and 2 runs of steps. Ideally, I'd add some wall mounting brackets. Is there a good training video? My preference is to draw this manually and import it into my stairwell. I find utilizing the stair menu too limited when trying to produce flowing curved transition rail from landing to steps and finishing returns. (Happy to be proved wrong and learn the stair menu if the capacity is there.) I get a good result converting polyline on the molding in a section view, but this limits me to elevation view only. ie this method does not allow me to return across the landing and up the 2nd run of steps. Still using X15 but have X16 if the new upgrade provides a better outcome.
  6. Indeed is has...obvious too! Thanks
  7. Is that option only available on X16. I don't see anything to remove molding on the general page of the wall dialog. I have sorted this using a poly line but would prefer to know your method
  8. Is there a method of deleting skirting from an individual wall when the default moulding (skirtings) is set for a room? eg. I have applied standard skirting throughout, but I want to remove the skirting from a bar servery in the same room. I am still using X15 and haven't moved to X16. Let me know if X16 has better control for this.
  9. Yes, I did do that while waiting for a response. Probably the best and simpliest method as my plan file has become congested mutliple revisions. No doubt the wall height issue will be resolved with a new start
  10. Somehow, I have a wall that does not reach the ceilings. The design is a renovation of an existing industrial office/shed with a suspended ceiling throughout. I have created a model/symbol of the steel portal shed and placed it within the single-storey structure. This is not shown in the images below, but I mention this to indicate the plan has some hidden unusual application. The ceilings are generally set at 2700, however the room below is set at 3000, but for some reason all the walls does not reach the ceiling. This only shows in the Room Specification menu. Plan View These short walls do not show in the elevations or sections. In some areas, the fire and acoustic walls continue through the ceiling to the underside and show correctly in elevation. I have put up this problem until the program does not allow me to place wall cabinets. These short walls only appear in the room specifications. The walls are not set as capped or rail walls. The room elevation is displayed correctly. The drawing is complex and messy, so there is every chance I have created a conflict, however I cannot find it. Any suggestions?
  11. how do I make multiple copies in a radius or around a curve. I am attempting of position 60x20 batten @ 90 centres around a 3600 radius fascia. I did it successfully a few months back but have no idea what I did.
  12. Thanks Fellas. It worked
  13. I am trying to plot in 3D framing a brace @ about 45º in plan view, but also rising @ about 6º in elevation (or on the 'Z' coordinate plane). (The is in steel framing) I am using 'convert polyline' to a molding, but cannot raise the molding end height in an elevation view. (I don't normally draw structural steel in an architectural system, but hopefully, there is a method. Any ideas on how I might do this?
  14. I am creating a large curve portal beam. 27000mm radius. How to I increase the curve segments? The default has too long segments in the curve, which does not look curved. The view of the I beam should be a nice, curved bend rather than an octagonal... hexagonal etc stagger look.
  15. Can some help solve this? I want the window frame captured in the Room Elevation view. The window is positioned in the outer of the double wall system. This position is essential to the best practice for external window flashings. The window is displayed in the external elevation view but is on displayed in the internal room elevation view as shown below.. I have produced a double wall system. The wall frames are checked 'Frame through' in the Double Wall section of the Wall Specification box. as per the floor plan view. The design is an internal timber framed wall (90mm hatched) against the shed 150 steel purlins (150 grey) to create a double wall system. The window is position in the outer wall (or the grey section) which is automatically cut through the frame wall as shown below The room elevation view below is of the kitchen sink view, however the window frame is not showing because it is positioned in the outer wall. How do I get the room elevations to show the window? How do I resolve this?
  16. Amazing. So simple. Sometimes I feel like a Chief Guru then suddenly I am not!
  17. Below is a Tactile however I can't delete the centre crosshairs. The blue gridline are all the combined centre points which creates a set of grid. It is not helpful. How to get rid of the centre points? They are on the same layer as the circule.
  18. How do raise the eave soffit. As per the image below the soffit lining is hanging about 50mm below the barge.
  19. Somewhere I discovered a camera adjustment to lighten the background building elements of an elevation. This adjustment highlighted the foreground walls etc with a higher degree of boldness. I am not referring the jpeg background views, but walls and other building elements beyond a certain distance, which are lighter than the foreground in an elevation view. Can anyone tell me where I found this? Perhaps there is a video instruction is available.
  20. Can anyone recommend a good teaching video for understanding line weight and scale transfer to the layout page. I have always stayed with the preset CA standard. I think. Generally, my common line weight is 18 and my layout is scaled @ 1=1/50mm. I always get this error, but don't understand.
  21. Yes, Ok. I have done that. Thank you
  22. IS there a method in stair menu to produce angled riser as shown below. This method allows a 250mm going to actual achieve 275mm. Similar idea to treads overhanging 25mm, but cast-in concrete angled risers avoids the need additional tread installation. Any helps or ideas?
  23. I have created a symbol using the same method I did with CA X14, but now in CAX15 I am not given the option to size the object with the stretch values. Having create a symbol when I open it, the menu is more like a block menu rather than a symbol. Any helps, suggestions.
