  1. Hi Everyone, I have been working on sending things to layout and I have noticed my text has gotten really pixelated when I am looking at my floorplan now. I will attach a photo. It has never been pixelated before. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks! Heidi1432843657_ScreenShot2023-01-18at9_53_27PM.thumb.png.a130ef50c6bd3dc2df400ca8a681fe87.png

    Thank you!

  3. Hello,

I am working on sending my floorplan to layout and the town i'm in requires a minimum 1/4" + 1'0" but when I use those specifications it doesnt fit properly on my layout.. and i'm using 24x36 paper which I believe is the standard size everyone does layouts on. Any thoughts or ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

  4. Thank you so much everyone for all of the knowledge and help. I think I will end up rebuilding each one at a time once I check the proper settings in "Build Roof". Thank you, I could've not figured this out alone. I appreciate all of your input!

  5. Thanks @GeneDavis I am new to this program so any help is greatly appreciated. I will do what you suggested and repost. I am wondering with the second photo you uploaded it shows a basement somehow? My construction will be a cement slab with 2x4 framing. I added the second story to create a flat roof over the 1 car garage so there should be no basement. Not sure if that matters?

  6. Hi @solver, Thanks for your response . I will paste the link to my file here - it is the whole plan so its on google drive. I have 10' ceilings and a 4/12 pitch for the roof. I can't see what the difference would be with my manual roof planes vs. auto generated ones. I am only focusing on the roof above the 1 car garage side of the house for now while i am trying to figure out how to get it to work. Yes the trusses look perfect when I auto build the roof. If I lower my roof planes to match the specs from the auto roof the drywall on the ceiling inside will start to slant downward on the edges of the rooms. I use manual roof planes because with the "tower" over the entrance the program doesn't auto build roofs that will work for me at all it seems to glitch somehow.

Any help would be so appreciated.

  7. Hello,

I am working on truss building currently and have already manually built my roof planes. However, upon messing around with the program I have figured out that my trusses only build correctly if I auto build the roof and check the box "Trusses (no birdsmouth) under the pitch. I need my trusses to look like picture #1 but when I build my trusses for my manually built roof they look like picture #2.

Does anyone know how to build the trusses to look like #1 with manual roof planes?

  8. Hello! I am trying to build trusses to have a 7.5" overhang with a 4/12 pitch. I am struggling getting them to build correctly. The way I want them to look is picture #3. However, I have to lower my roof plane so much to get the truss to build the way that I want that my exterior wall lowers in height. When I get the roof plane at the correct height then the roof trusses build incorrectly (Picture #2) . Lastly, the framing at the intersections of the walls is showing slanted #1 . The height of my ceiling is 10 feet. Please help I can't understand why this isn't working.

    Thank you!

  9. Hello! I am using x10. I am trying to get each of my floors to show up separately in 3D. I.E. when i'm on floor 1 it will show all my walls and no roof, when I go to floor 2 it will then show the roof in addition to the walls. I can't find where I can change how this is displayed in 3D. Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you!

  10. Hello! I tried to "convert to symbol" an electrical outlet so i could place it in my kitchen island. However it didn't work. BUT now my program is going alarmingly slow and the size of the file is 460mb instead of what it used to be which is about 80mb. Any ideas? I have already tried to purge unused CAD blocks. Just feel like I'm missing something here.

    Thank you for any help!

  11. Hello, I cannot figure out what this issue is, every time I try to do a measurement or extend a wall this spiderweb looking thing of lines comes up and I cannot figure out what it is. If anyone has any thoughts on how to get rid of it that would be greatly appreciated!

  12. Hello, I am using Chief architect premier x10 and am having issues getting my roof planes to line up. I need the valley on the left side of the hip to run off the roof but then on the right side there is about a 4 inch gap in my roof. I'm not sure what to do to fix this. Second question: I had to adjust this roof plane to line up with the rest of my roof but now the edge of the plane is not directly over where the two walls connect. Is it necessary for the edge of the plane to be directly over where the walls connect? Any other roof suggestions are welcome on how to make this work.

    Thank you,

    Heidi
