  1. Bob, Joey, Intriguing. Did you all use the surface remove tool to get that look?
  2. It seems that a 'Save As' won't "Set Template As Default" which is why I use the dbx? Might be missing something as usual but still leaves the questions hanging. "why are the random boxes checked? Is there a way to set the default to have all the boxes unchecked? Or just the last one checked as a default?"
  3. I only ever use the last check box and have to uncheck all the other boxes every time I want to save a template. I understand that the other choices have merit for some users but why are the random boxes checked? Is there a way to set the default to have all the boxes unchecked? Or just the last one checked as a default?
  4. Check the video @ 19:03 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/whats-new/
  5. Pretty sure this will never be solved as it's random and can't be repeated but was wondering if anyone else has seen this? This is X15 but was common in X14 as well.
  6. LOVE the new 3D grass region but have never had any success using the 3D ref display, offset or otherwise.
  7. Got it Glenn Thanks. Maybe that will help the OP?
  8. Oh My Freaking GOD! I/we did it! I/we did it! THANK YOU Michael so much for the kick in the behind to get it done. I kinda sorta knew everything you described but haven't played for so long it all slipped away. I ended up with a 1/64th dash with a 1/64th space and a slightly smaller line weight and that should work for the next 20 years!! Thank you so much again. Really appreciate it. And hope it helps Alan in some way to make the thread highjack worthwhile.
  9. WOW, I have to say I did NOT see that coming. A really, really nice feature!!
  10. Thanks You guys but I'm missing something and perhaps Alan the OP too?
  11. Too true and for years I have wanted smaller dashed lines but for some unknown reason I've been creating plans all those years with dashed lines that are too wide. Thanks Michael for reaffirming some pre-existing internal insight. As an aside I can't enter .0001 into either dbx on my system but I guess it wasn't "really ever a requirement at all."
  12. In the over 20 years I've been using Chief I have NEVER been able to create a dashed line that has small enough dashes for my uses, in Plan or Layout, custom lines, custom dashes, just never small enough. Gave up years ago.
  13. Here's the plan file I'm playing with. WALL FRAME 1.plan
  14. Walls frame up to the sheeting (or soffit in this case) OK using your and Scott's technique in the video that Chop found but the rafters don't show.
  15. It all looks OK as in the walls build to the 'soffits' but the rafters don't show. Interesting? Dunno.
  16. Thanks Chop. Found the info at 1:17:45 but can't get the settings to affect X14 in the same way. Perhaps it worked that way in X10 as in the video? Dunno but the roof rafters don't show when using the same settings in X14.
  17. Looks like X15 addresses and fixed this issue.
  18. Will there be a beta forum? Or will this forum absorb the Beta questions and/or problems?
  19. But wait, there's more.. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/whats-new/
