    1. Did you check the trash can?  If it's not there, was this a user library folder or one of the core library folders?  If it was a core, manufacturer, or bonus library, the easiest thing is probably to just download it again.  If it was a user library and you don't have a backup, well that's a problem.  If you placed any of the objects into a plan, you could always open the plan, select the object, and then add it back to the library.

    2.  Just right click on the folder and export it to a suitable location.  See this help article for more info:

    https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00001/backing-up-chief-architect-content.html#User

It was a user library - I just recreated it. My Trash is empty.
I guess my library is under the data folder maybe - I will check that to back it up.

    Thank you

  2. Hello,

    Two questions...

    1. I lost one of my folders in my library - I must of deleted it by accident. How do I find it back?
    2. Is there a way to export/save my Library so I can restore it if something like this happens?

    Thank you

    %(width.to_f/12).round% x %(height.to_f/12).round% GARAGE DOOR

Well, I will remember this if I run into an issue. I just went through and set up like 15 different typical garage doors and set their sizes and saved them into my library. It all works great for now. It did not take too long if I need to change it later.

    %(width/12.inch).round% x %(height/12.inch).round % GARAGE DOOR

Adding ".inch" to the divisor removes the inch (") symbol after the results.

    Perfection!
    %(width/12.inch).round% x %(height/12.inch).round% GARAGE DOOR

    Thank you Michael!
Michael, I'm assuming you know a bit about the Marcos? I would love to toss some money in your direction to spend an hour learning about this.

  6. Default Label Formatting
Custom labels can include a variety of macros that report size information about the object. This information can be reported in either of two ways:
    • Default Formatting includes the unit of measurement after each macro reporting size information. In files using US Units, sizes are described using fractional inches with up to 1/16” accuracy.
    • When Default Formatting is not used, units of measurement are not shown and decimal inches are used.
You can specify whether to Use Default Formatting in the object’s specification dialog. See Label Panel.

Anyone who knows Macros like to send me/us the macro to make labels automatic for garage doors?

  7. I need to revive this issue. When I use... Tools > Checks > Plan Check nothing is happening. It just tells me that there are no errors.

On another plan a week ago I ran into an issue where the sq.ft. was off, and found a wall that was not ended - or broken.

However, I also found a tool where I could create a border on included areas - but for the life of me, I cannot remember it or find it back. Any ideas?

    Thank you

It's always been a strange Default for me especially since we have a Slab Tool, so I am not sure why they can't switch the hardcoded Default to Exterior Trim instead ( Or better yet just give us a New Default for Polyline Solids like we have for Material Regions etc.

    M.

Exactly! Chief - lets get a default for Polyline Solid - Thank you

That material is controlled by Material Defaults>Foundation Slab.  If you change that setting you'll get what you're looking for with Polyline Solids, BUT then you'll also end up with white footings and slabs.

Ah! I do more with slabs then PLs so all good. Thank you Michael!
