  1. Make the baluster width zero in the stair dbx, the you have the stair system with railings over it! And finally Use the rail style panel(solid no rails) and make it to follow the stair. Don't forget to play with Newel spacing to get the look you want.

  2. Can anyone help to get the circle wall on back side of stair and closed under stair. Need 2 2'8" or 3' doors cleared going to verada.

Might even consider w.i. railings. balcony railing on stair is not matching stair railding.

rear 2nd floor rear balcony need beams below it and maybe w.i. railings.

W.I railings on your stair, I am not sure if that is what you wanted. Here it is, if it helps.

  3. Very subtle signage Yusuf. :D

Here is a bit of reno work.

    jon.

Hey Jon, I am not advanced in understanding such big words, honestly speaking I need some one's help to get it, what it means "subtle signage" but I know Jon is kind and I take it as kind words, so thanks.

Regarding the later I was just experimenting in chief RT and the second image is just a mode of photo editor software in my smart phone. I don't know what reno works is.

Jon, your works are always fantastic!! really nice one.

  4. That's true, but it doesn't make it any less inconsiderate (especially considering there is another section for suggestions and hijacking threads is generally bad form anyway).

How would you feel if you were really proud of the hard work you put into something and how well it turned out...so you show your client only to hear their first response...

"Why didn't you do this?" Or have them ignore it altogether and instead of saying thank you or nice work...show you something they want you to change somewhere else.

I'm sure Chief can accept all criticism you send their way and they'll invite it even. It doesn't make it any less frustrating or discouraging though.

Like my wife likes to tell our children...pick a better time. Just my opinion.

Anyway, from what I can tell X8 is shaping up to be one of the better upgrades to date.

    Good work Chief!

The best of Michael! He honestly put it. That is very kind of you. Good advice that all of us would like it!!

Great work!! they really done it and will look forward to see the next sneak. Hopefully Chiefarchitect X8 will do most of the things we need.

  5. I would create a wall material region with the same thickness to the siding, assign it with opening no material and save it in the library for the feature. Then it is like applying it on wall and auto cuts the siding for good, similar to the delete surface method but permanent change and ofcourse reversible if you need it! Just delete the material region in plan and the original wall is there, but I normally use the save as method for this kind of display and the original plan is always on the safe side from un intended changes.

  6. In x8 this is gona be easy. Native stair rails. Isn't this how chief must do it.

I think this type of balusters is not mostly used, here is a photo of one. You can easily use chief's auto stairs as shown in the video, no sound but hope this is easy to understand. Make the stair material opening no material and apply it on a symbol of stair without railing.

  7. Ok I know this is silly, but the power to store temporarily using clipboard is very helpfull. I use it most of the time before doing any action that affects some part of the job. This case make a temporary roof then place rafters as Scott said. Finally Before deleting the roof , just copy it and paste it back holding its position.

The niche techniqu I posted last time was applying this technique. Draw walls, apply the material region, copy the material region, place the window niche and finally paste hold position and the material region will not be cut by the window. This is just FYI and i would realy like, if chief could have an option to store temporarily minimum ,a list of the last 5 copied items. and let me choose which one to paste currently. Just a thought, in my oppenion this would increase some efficiency.

  8. Isn't it OK, the sound. though I am not native speaker, it is better actually now. You know I am fast learner.

This method helps to understand the relation ship b/n the stair risers and contour intervals. And at the same time the plan view of contours with thread depths. This is an other good example on, why programmed workflows are important to addapt in the different stages of the learning curve.

  9. That looks a lot like the first image I posted, with the wall added. Do you mind posting the .plan file to take a closer look? Thanks.

This is my last try at it:

Have to add a few steps to get the same height as the original. Looks a little better but not sure how comfortable it would be to use, never seen one like this irl.

    The plan.

  10. Anybody who is using their 99th language to teach CA,  must be applauded.  Yusuf,  you are an asset to this forum...you come up with some neat stuff thinking outside of the box. Please keep up the good work. Thank You.

Thank you very much Scott. Really glad to share ideas with you great guys.

  11. Is it some thing like this? I am afraid to state the obvious.

Bye the way, you remind me about a joke, two guys sitting in a bus side by side, one asked the other "wa.....waaa....what ..t....t..time is it rrrright now" the other guy kept silent. Again the guy repeated questioning, asked several times and the guy is not talking at all. So some one else following the two, answered him "10:30". After one minute the silent guy getting close to the other whispered, saying "mmm.....mm..my ffffffriend I was af...fff...afraid you woulddd tttakkke it I wassss... making fun of youuuu." So obviously both had the same tongue problem, like you and me( English is my 99th language) no worries. Just say what you want, some one will understand and interpret to others, like they do it for me some times.

  12. You can also try making the wall a railing. Check "stop at ceiling above" in the structure tab, set the railing and post heights to the highest point of the wall, and use panel rail style with no raised bottom panel. Use glass for the panel material, and use post size/spacing/material as your window frames.

I've done this for a screened patio with a shed roof (single pitch) and it worked well for renderings. My screen and frames followed the pitch of the roof. I haven't tried it with a curved roof or glass instead of screen, but it should work.

really appreciate your assumed workflow to help the op achieve what he wanted, I tried your method and couldn't figure out exactly, but any way thanks for the heads. Frankly speaking it is your way that led me to figure out a bit different work flow. Just an open railing combined with glass shower wall. Though not sure this is the exact enquiry of the op.

Hey op, is it some thing like this? Does that help. Not using X7 actually, one step down.

Can someone help me modify this project of this house. this is the same house in 2 designs. i am new user with chief x7 and i am still learning to work with the program. i have uploaded some picture with the house in 2 diferent  combinations, but i need to simplify the design. i need to  make just one greble roof, i need  just  a simple  wall on the back with no porch or windows.

I can give more info later.

It looks interesting, RC frame. It isn't clear the help you need, any way here is start up of your model from the fly. Feel free to clearly tell your need.
