Hey guys, anyone got a link on layout sheet sizing? I need one sheet in the layout file to be 36x48 to get my floor plan to fit at 1/4" scale.

cabinets have disappeared after a computer crash...X15 on Windows

I feel bad for your co-worker. That is all of our worst nightmares, especially with no I.T. dept when you are self employed. -
why does this always happen when you mull triangular windows? I rebuild walls/floors and ceiling and nothing happens.

9 times out of 10 if they send a pdf form you can "pdfimport" into Autocad and get your lines. They are busted up lines but it is still a clean picture. I do it all the time for my site plans IF the client has it. I am building a spec home and got the surveyor to send me the pdf. I input into AutoCad, positioned the home like I wanted, sent it back to them so they could go back out and stake it out and they never yelled at me. OR, right click and copy their scanned image, paste into AutoCad, find one dimension you can read, trace a line on it and scale the entire image to that dimension. Then spot check other dims to make sure it is scaled properly. Then import as .dwg into CA. AutoCad is just faster for me for these things, that's why I keep it in my back pocket.

Well, it is not the prettiest but it gets the point across.......If you do the math in your head it comes out pretty decent.

I have a new request and wonder if it's even possible. The carport and storage room (below) needs to be raised 4" below the main home finished floor. Obviously that will make it impossible to pull into the carport. I need to gradually slope the terrain to enter into the carport on all three sides while keeping the terrain around the home the same. Have any of you done this? They basically want to avoid having to enter the home with stairs.

I haven't zipped a file in over 10 years. Is that still a thing? lol

This more out of curiosity than asking for help. Has CA resolved a way to close off stairs that cut through another room? I have been drawing pline solids since X10 and wondering if you guys do it another way. Example below. before after with pline solid and drywall as material

@solverSee if this works for the plan file. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AnUxqlgTnqOJhwq3YC8yonXMK7hY?e=4rCxiQ

Thanks solver, I am going to try and get the file size down and post the plan. The thing is not all the walls have those lines showing. We do alot of brick homes here in the south and 95% of them that I do give me no problems. This one is one of the few.
-
Found another video that showed how to fix it. By the way, If i upload a google drive link to a plan file does that link pull up everything else in my google drive?
-
It would not go away on the pdf which is what I send clients for review. I normally send colored renderings but with white painted brick you cannot see the mortar lines so i do technical illustration.
-
Does anyone have a link to the recent (i think) thread explaining why these lines appear even when the walls are aligned and not stretched. I cannot find it.

I'm going be spying on this thread because come December I am upgrading to a new Alienware as well. Does the higher the number on the graphics card really mean it is better? I have been too busy recently to download and try twin motion but I plan on it in 2024 so I want the best machine out there for it.

And automatic eave heights from story pole dims.

sounds like I should stay with my pitch marks I created in my library.
-
Just curious if any of you use roof labels for your elevations instead of manually placing pitch marks. It sure does save a step on all elevations and cross sections but is it normal? I have always added pitch marks but like I said just curious.

Good ole rainbow tool....worked great.

I have blend colors with materials checked but it still deletes the texture. Tips?

Worked Great Rob. And the front and rear walls were resolved when "pony wall" came to mind. All is good. Thanks.

Hey guys, here is a new one for me. All ceiling heights in the home are 9' except for the mid wing which is 18'. I need the walls as shown below but the front and rear walls are one entity and the side walls are shooting up as 4" interior. It is almost the opposite of "lower wall type if split by butting roof". Suggestions? I am giving away upvotes left and right for advice.

AHHH, you are very correct chop. I thought I caught that but they should be 7 1/4". Thanks

First, do you guys frame dormer roofs with 2x4's? I have always liked 2x6. Second, when I explode the dormers to make the rafters 2x6 the overall roof thickness never updates except the soffit. Just curious why?
