  1. You were right, I deleted that "5 1/2" purlins" under the surface dbx and made the structure 5 1/2" purlins. It brought the roof down 5 1/2" so I then I used the transform/replicate object and moved in up 5 1/2" in the z direction and boom, it's perfect. May not be the proper way or best way but it worked and I can move on.
  2. This is where I was thinking the mistake was but haven't investigated yet! I know it has to be a simple fix.
  3. That is what I am saying. Subfascia is 2x6, see below in red, and I have the eave sub fascia turned off. Regular fascia is 2x8 directly below what I circled. That is way more than 1 3.4" gap too. This is why I am puzzled.
  4. It is....the actual fascia, eave and gable, is 2x8. Is that what you mean?
  5. Hey guys, I am doing another pole barn style home (even though I was gonna quit doing them, this may be my last). 2x6 purlins on scissor trusses. How can I raise my soffits? Pics below to explain.....
  6. Yep. Added a pretty cool rafter tail to em.
  7. That's a good idea, thanks.

    Balcony

Is there a way to remove the structure from a balcony like pictured below to expose the floor structure? I know you can do it in the framing plans but the actual hardie board closure material is what needs to be gone. The balcony was built with railing walls. internet mine
  9. Dude, that worked awesome. Learned something new.
  10. I tried that but a warning came up that I would lose it. I didn't move forward with the command after that. Thanks DB!
  11. Hey guys, I wasn't paying attention to the level I was on when I cut the cross section. After spending much time labeling the materials I realized I was on level 2 and not 1. Now when I uncheck "display on all floors" the section cut arrows are not on level 1 where I need it. Any way to move it down without losing work?
  12. Got any vids or links to vids on this?
  13. Thanks guys, I have actually never tried cabinets and soffits with molding but will look into it.
  14. Hey guys, I think there was someone here a few years back showing how to change columns. I like the one shown below but not with the panels. Can we take those out somehow? I could be wrong on this and maybe he was showing how to revise the column top and bottom.
  15. I agree with everything you said. Maybe the reason is that anytime else they mitered it could very well be that I was doing a deck off the back of the home. Something to definetly look into. In this case it is a porch made out of railing walls. As far as the overlapping and making sure all three stair had identical settings, I tried all that. I even tried to connect some new stairs away from the home in blank space and still nothing.
  16. Well, what I had to end up doing after troubleshooting is just do polyline solids on this project. I had complete control of it this way and it came out nice.
  17. Yes sir I do! Very puzzled
  18. On today's episode of "What in the hell is going on?" We visit a situation to where stairs, depending on their current mood of the day, will either (a) connect and mitre or (b) waste your time and never connect. Here we have three identical, i repeat identical, sets of stairs I wanna join and mitre but they aren't having it. What really is the secret in CA to make this work? Some jobs they cooperate immediately and others I have to hop on here to get your thoughts.
  19. Oh don't you worry we revised it for the parking spot.
  20. Very true Joe. Beings this has been a request after the home was designed, I am trying to avoid adding any new floors. I will keep this in mind for future projects.
  21. I guess at the end of the day I can just add a note for the storage above to be "per builder" and just show it with no flooring between. Thoughts?
  22. Here we go again with a weird request. Is it possible to add a space between floor 0 & 1? Attached below is what I am trying to do. I will show my settings for the room space floor and ceiling heights. The space below the main level is -200". If I split the height in half and give the golf cart and bath a 100" ceiling height then it jacks up my main level flooring and brings it down. I really hate requests like this and it slowing me down. I hope I am clear on what I am trying to achieve and it being correct on my drawings and cross sections. The -16 3/4" is to the bottom of the floor trusses.
  23. In the structure tab of the room specification.
