  1. Hello! I'm thinking chief doesn't offer these type brackets (in black) in the library since pitches can be different? You guys draw these manually? I like the bolt heads and how it adds detail.
  2. I'm surprised chief hasn't made a fix for this as advanced as the program already is. It seems to be the norm around here lately. Everybody wants soffit lights (which I totally understand) and outlets in the soffits for Christmas lights. I just hate faking things.
  3. Whewww! That what i was doing except manually drawing the symbol and then using the arc command for my electrical connections. If this is the way to go then it wasnt cheating it after all. Thanks.
  4. Hey guys, how do you place your soffit lights and even soffit outlets? I cant get it to accept the symbols.
  5. Dude, this will be a time saver. It will help on my elevations as well, always having to turn on the layers I want it to show and such.
  6. Nice, I will give it a go.
  7. I have my layout file defaults set up like I like them. Every time I start a new plan file I go through the motions of editing the dimensions to my liking in the defaults. Can we set this up for every new plan file that is started. I like all my dims rounded to the nearest inch, story poles a certain way etc. I understand doors, windows etc would not be ideal to do this, just dimensions.
  8. thanks dude, it was an auto generated roof so i am surprised it was cutting into it.
  9. Where should I be looking in the settings to prevent the walls from doing this? They should be board & batten. Ann Yockers.plan
  10. I am going to look into both of these guys. it only shows in vector view. the past several homes i have done have been like this.
  11. Hey guys, Why do interior walls show a line where the top of the pony wall is? Is it on a certain layer?
  12. when i discovered plan check it really saved me alot of time on things.
  13. this has really been a request from my clients lately. it kind of clutters the plan but the info is really helpful to them when reviewing.
  14. I show the entire house on elevations and hatch out the existing structure on plans views.
  15. very true!! this worked.
  16. the problem was on the foundation wall type. i had the air gap and brick on the main layer not exterior.
  17. cool, thanks! how do you set up a horizontal brick wall cap to close off the foundation at the top? just seeing if your way is easier.
  18. exactly like this.......
  19. I forget how to set it up to where the exterior side of the stud wall is in line with the exterior side of the running block. (bumped outward)
  20. I have been messing with numbers and can't get it just right. Anyone know how to get this type of door exact? door size is 72"X96" It's like I need to get the casing to move up higher to be symmetrical all around.
  21. thanks man, i try to move the grips and it goes nuts but obviously you got it.
  22. guys, to further complicate this home, it has a false ceiling. the living is vaulted all the way from the kitchen to the fireplace below two different height gables. my problem i ran into from day one is the highest gable coming down into the living space. i ballooned thru ceiling above but nothing. it has to be on top of the ceiling planes i manually created to close off the gable at attic level. i am not grasping these attic walls on this home......arghh. plan attached an dupdated. dormer also has to be functional and open to living space.
