Assuming that you are charging them that much then why not just upgrade to X14?
Because all hell broke loose when I upgraded from X12-X13 from my library and other files. I finally got X13 set up just like I want. I will upgrade in the future though and read more on migrating settings.

You could always just say no.
Negative, not for what I charge to do plans. They get what they want.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I knew it was a matter of time before this window type was requested from a client.

do we have this option in X13? "show shutters closed"?
-
How do you guys achieve this on window settings? Thanks

Really nice website Aussie.

I did make some roof and wall changes today. I wonder if it was occurring because of bad connections somewhere.

That sure sounds like a glitch to me. Of course it all depends on what you did during that "little time" before it showed up again.
Normally, problems like this happen when you do not rebuild the framing after making changes to the model. This leaves the old framing around which can be completely wrong. The obvious solution is to just rebuild the framing for what ever was changed. You could also turn on auto rebuild framing but I find that this can cause slow downs.
I'm with Glenn on this, you should post a plan if you want anything other than a generic answer.
This happens when a client makes constant changes for two months on the home. How do we upload large files again?

They are used to help locate major portions of a structure. I would never use them on a residential plan set unless it is quite large and/or complex and they are needed to help builders with layout and to communicate where something is located. On a very large building, it can really make it simple to discuss the plan set with other plan readers (for example: Please refer to the linen closet that is to the left of grid line 3 and above grid line C).
For smaller plans, you're simply wasting your own time, cluttering the drawing and probably confusing the trades (unless it is a common practice in your region).
I see. Definitely answers my question. Maybe that's why I have never seen them on other designer's plans in my region who do residential.

I am interested in learning more on CA construction lines. The tutorial I watched didn't go into too much detail other than making the grid in plan view and them automatically showing up in elevations. Any vids you can suggest on what they are actually used for and what info they can provide to the plan set?

Yeah i have been manually dragging dim lines here and there but want to use CA's speed of things to the fullest. It gets confusing in the settings when you do wall elevations, as an example, and it wanting to dimension things like the molding on top of cabinets which I hate so I very rarely mess with dim settings.

Double click the Interior Dimension tool to open the active dimension defaults. Select 'Locate Interior'. You'll see that Wal Options has different settings available than Locate Manual or Locate End to End.
If I were you, I'd use the Locate Manual or Locate End to End tool instead and customize it's Locate Objects properties.
Nice Rob, will give it a go. thanks

Can't you go to the new layout on sheet zero and copy and paste the template/border and then paste on sheet zero of the project layout? That is if I understood you correctly.

You can draw a circle and use the convert tool to make it a tray ceiling.
You can also draw a square tray ceiling and make the sides curved.
Dude that worked great! Keep that money hidden DB!

Nice job, did you build the bar joist or is that modified Chief Truss?
To be honest, my CAD skills are better for manual things like trusses and done in Autocad and then brought over to chief. I have noticed though it seems to bog down the drawings when I do this. Maybe from all the truss openings. I worked with the owner on this since he is building it and he already had pics of the trusses he bought so I made them match.

In CA, if we need at 30 amp plug (120V), do we have a symbol for that? I only see 220V or 110V. Thanks!
