More than a few changes since then.
First image shows one way to add an accessory as a pull out and have it go into that column for a schedule-for doors objects added from library as shelves work, as do those added to the back of a door.
Second Image is how to add text for ANY modification using a "custom object information field" to go it into a schedule.
Either or both of these can be done quickly by making a style palette from the cabinet and adding to library. (which requires a bit more info, I may put something together on that in July or August depending on work)
learned something new from this!

OR, just delete all that you do not want by holding the delete key down, take a screen shot, then hit cancel to void the deletions.
Charles
Pretty cool, never thought of that. And I found by doing so i was off by 45 minutes when I manually added the times.

Can someone teach me the way to get certain times added up? I thought before we could click a date, hold shift, then click the last date and it would add the hours for ya. Can't get it to work now (x13).
In this case I want it to add June 20th-june 22nd total time. Thanks! I tried messing with the "start" and "end" pulldowns but I got some wacky hours.

@ChiefUserBigRob - made you a quick video. Controlling brick ledges is not difficult...you just need to no where to look. It comes down to defining your brick wall type correctly.
COOL VID!

It's probably close enough...tough to tell without a detailed section view. It depends on a few things, like the size of the brick, size of air gap, layers of the wall above, regional construction practices, etc.
Don't forget to quote or 'tag' someone to notify them for a response! @ChiefUserBigRob
Agreed, I was lazy this time haha. I guess when I think about it, take a 3" brick and add 1" air gap that gives you the 4". I'm just one of those guys who has to ask questions to answer my own questions. Sometimes, I would like to program my brain accurately.

I hate brick homes, they do this every time. If the floor plan is saying 104' and the foundation says 104'-4" that's fine if you tell them "edge of brick ledge". But what dictates that extra 4". Brick ledges are 3" correct? What is that 2 1/4" dim below in the pic. I do not want to screw up the very first thing that is done on a home.

Rob, this is a wall dialogue box, not the room dialogue (DBX) that I have posted a picture of. There were two solutions that were alternates. I did not post a picture of the room DBX, just the wall DBX.
well, that cleared that up! It worked. Much appreciated!

hmmm, do half walls create a different type of room?...no options to check that on my end. Also, that is a custom counter top I added on top so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Pony Wall
I will look into both methods from you and chop. I have been manually building my porches lately with the beams and columns.

(c) edit the wall polyline to cover the beam.
P.S. Also we are no longer allowed to have LVL in an exposed situation anyway.
very true....I should have called it an exposed stained/painted beam or something. I knew someone would catch that.
-
What is the correct way to achieve this? I want the board and batten brought down to hide the LVL. I like exposed beams but the owner doesn't. Attached is a screen shot showing the simple dropper tool and the pattern not orientated right and essentially this is not a "real world" way of doing it but it is quicker to get the point across. Note that I used a ceiling beam and edited the size and type to 12' LVL. Would you.....
(a) create a new pattern rotating the board & batten 90 deg?
or
(b) build a polyline solid, give it the B&B material and attach to the side of the LVL?

Change your dimension reach or disconnect the deck or remove room definition in some way from the deck.
Dimension reach sounds like a plan.

Try this:
- temporarily disconnect the deck
- generate the automatic dimensions
- group select all of the dimensions (should be easy to do when you are in dimension mode)
- open the specification dialog and then click ok to close it
- click yes when asked if you want to turn off the auto regeneration of the dimensions
- reconnect the deck
The automatic exterior dimensions don't want to generate when you have full wrap around deck. Disconnecting the deck will allow you to generate them and then converting them into manual ones will allow you to keep them. This is the kind of thing that I would encourage you to report to tech support when you run into them.
2 years later I come across this same situation. Luckily I got a hit on the forum for this and it works by disconnecting the railing. Surely by now there is a fix for this?

BTW, it's going to be a cool Barndo. I do plenty of them down here in Bama.

It changes how the return extends out from the wall. Does not change the length.
This is what I thought........I leave it at zero always. If full return is not checked I change the the return length.
library clean up
in General Q & A

Every since I upgraded to X13, my library has been unorganized. I have learned to adapt to it. If we cannot drag and drop the files back in the correct folders how can this be fixed? I will use this info for when I go to X14 as well. User catalog should only be the symbols I make correct?
