This isn't exactly what you're looking for but if you get it all set up to your liking once, you can hold Ctrl to group select it and make it a CAD block which you can then save to your library. If you need to unblock it and adjust any of the text it may get messed up again though. That's how I'd do it.
One I put the text into the Rich Text box it is accurately not bad to make it the way I want it. Its still much quicker than retyping everything. Since I started this thread I have learned a lot about Rich Text and regular text and how to use them.
The thing I don't understand is why they have two separate boxes. I don't understand why they could have all the options combined in one box?

Have you tried rich text yet?
Yes, everything just groups together and I have to space everything the way I want it.

I use custom OIP fields for things like this. Often I keep something like this with both options, (N) & (E), somewhere so I only have to delete and set as default for drawing existing, then change and delete set as default for new (or just types since these are shorter than some things I need this for).
Like attached.
Problem is the COIP fields are global so still working on that.
I like it! Thank you that helps!

I want to end this thread because my question got answered on a different thread.
Here is my resolve
I didn't know that I could make a custom column in the default schedules under "Custom Objects Field"
Not sure if this was new in X11 but I never seen it before

Any idea's for best way to label the windows existing or new in the schedule? (E) or (N)
Maybe just use the label column or something?

Is there an option for obscure glass anywhere for the window schedule? Or do I have to add it to comments? What do you guys suggest because most every bathroom window I put in have obscure and tempered glass. I'm surprised CA doesn't have a check box in the same place you check for tempered and egress.
Help would be much appreciated

Ok, just a little update; I went ahead and installed windows 10 on my windows 7 computer. I am pleased to report it works with no issues thus far and my copy of Chief Architect X6... no issues!
Side note, I was able to get Windows 10 for free so that helps. builtright3 I thought you would appreciate that!

Awesome!

If you have a chance for a free upgrade go ahead...Otherwise if Happy with Win7 , what is the rush? besides you never know what Santa may bring you ....and if not you can always do Win10 Over the holidays
Not that Win10 is bad nowadays , but I also think you now need to pay for it , so why not get it with a New Computer at some point....
M.
Yea, arent they getting ready to put out a new windows again soon?

Thank you both, builtright3 and David Porter for your replies!
I have not made up my here completely but am leaning towards the update from Window 7 to Windows 10...I'll have to do it eventually anyway as Microsoft is slated to stop supporting windows 7 January 2020.
Thanks again,
ToddWindows 10 has been out for a while so I'm sure its pretty solid now and David confirmed it works good for him.

Do you think it's worth changing to NVME on my Mac Pro. My test results on my internal SSD are 1446 MB/s Read, 887 MB/s write
I'm very, vary, vary happy with my upgrade to the NVME but I'm on a PC so I dont know if that helps you. I dont know anything about MAC and to be honest I dont know much about PC but I do know that the NVME is the hot ticket for me! I love it!

I know several people that don't want to give up windows 7. Some claim that it is still the best windows version.
I'm not proud of this statement but I always upgrade because I always think I have to have the latest technology whether it's good or bad. Most people leave things alone when their system is working good and I make trouble for myself, but what the heck! Somebody has to be the Ginny pig!
My advise would be, if everything is working good I would leave it alone unless you are prepared for the can of worms you could open up from going to windows 10. It could snow ball on you to upgrade other software and hardware. JUST A THOUGHT!
FOR WHATS IS WORTH
I have never had an issue with CA but I don't know how it will react to other software you have and your computer. Most of the time I think it is fine. You have to weigh out the risk for yourself.

Well certainly don't continue here-you do have a previous thread about the problem though-might just use that
and since the OP was told to search and someone even suggested making a laptop sticky-maybe someone with time on their hands can post some links to appropriate threads as an edit to a post on the first page?
I agree with your thoughts but things are hard to control. Its always easier said than done.
I search all the time for stuff and its a lot of information to navigate through and so that in itself can be very time consuming. Easier to ask the question and get direction one way or the other. I don't have a good answer for this but I do know that this forum works very well like it is and it gets better.
As for me, I will comply with an rules the best I can and help as much as I can.
Thank you Mark, I really appreciate you!

Shame on every one of us, including me, who posted to this thread-except for the first 3 or 4 posts. Those advised the newbie to search the forum. Another thread in Tips has the same suggestion. Now and for a while a search of the forum for laptops will bring this thread to the top of the list-4 pages of hijack while Builtrights original thread on his problem collects dust where I doubt all suggested diagnostic steps were followed AND I seriously doubt that a drive will solve a display issue. Then we tell newbies to read "how to get good answers"
We should all know better.I'm doing a video to better explains my problem with my external monitors. Should I start a new thread for that? I'm also going to send it to Chief.

A Tip , I am trying from Rene....
If you have 32gb RAM try AMD's Free Ram Disk set to the max 4GB, I use M:\ for the RAMdrive as R was already used, and on the RamDrive make a Folder called Temp and one called Undo , and then point CA to the RamDrive in Preferences to each Folder.

Yes, I was planning on going back and studying Rene's post about this subject and see if I can figure it out. I dont have have a full understanding and I dont want to get into something like this if I dont know why I'm doing it. I need a dumbed down explanation. You know like one of those books for idiots! Thankts Me!

I think Mick is right on the rafter size. If you build framing you can see what needs to be done more clearly. No one can give you a definite answer unless we have your plan file. Its easier to help you when you can send your plan file.
