OK I deleted that wall & added a new one & it looks good. I assume because the two floors are at -4 that it installed properly.

Joey, I found the macro useful as a newbie because I am still sorting out may templates. And from the look of it it may be a month or so before I can figure out what all needs to be changed in the templates. Far more powerful would be Ruby with full access to the environment & objects. At that point your imagination would be the only limitation.

I changed the garage floor to -4 as we are required for safety to have a lower garage floor (gas fumes I think) I lowered the stair floor -4, & changed the stair to Auto adjust height so both flights to the landing have the same tread rise & it adjusted to the new floor height. Then in camera view from garage I selected the wall & pulled it down to the floor. Not sure why it did not adjust by itself.

I did an Edit Area and moved the first floor only. This created an overhang on front & back of the building. The section & elevation views now show a missing floor perimeter in some areas. What did I do wrong & how to fix it? Thanks in advance. 1st AveSouth.zip

I modified a landing & it hides the door swing. No Bring To Front for the door. Also I modified a polyline solid and it hides the door swing. Both have a lower elevation than the door so the drawing order in the database must be the problem. So how to bring the door swing to top of group?

I'm a neophyte in CA so not sure yet which ONE thing to update. I have been making a list for the past month using CA of the problems I have encountered. The Stair on my current project is driving me nuts with a cable railing and 3 floors with stair over the other & floor height different. Thanks for the suggestion to turn them off & just work in CAD (I think the CAD sucks BTW). But the lack of Auto Update of layouts is an insidious monster waiting to bite you on the butt. The least I would want is a button for UPDATE ALL LAYOUTS!!!! Then you could turn the extra fan on the computer and go out for lunch while it works.

I have an exterior stair in a courtyard but can not see in in the 2nd floor view. As it provide access to the room over the garage I want it shown on the 2nd floor plan as well as the 1st floor plan.

But perhaps the ones not fit for use in a layout should be separated so the user doesn't have to analyze the choice. One section for layouts & one section for Ray Trace. Why should I have to stub my toe on every quirky thing.

Glenn you are correct it is the type of tree. I used one from the Bonus Catalog & it is displayed. Thanks But you should be warned if the object can only be use for rendering or Ray Trace. Or did I miss the warning?

I created a section view & the trees are there but when i add the view to layout the trees are missing. I checked the layer of the layout view & PLANTS are ON. I will post the plan if needed but after lunch. Thanks

Yea, another work around.

Perhaps someone can help with this one. The 1st floor has a landing at the front door, an elevated foyer. I broke the stair flights into two stair to be able to display the upper half as dashed and transparent. The 1st & 2nd floor stair do not align in length as the floor heights are different, this is intentional. All was OK until I tried to make all railings horizontal wire style. The problem I have is the 2nd floor stair railing & cleaning uo the angle on the 1st floor stair railing. 1st AveSouth2.zip

How do you handle this condition. I want hidden walls to be visible to me while working but some I don't want to print. What I want is a non printing layer for some walls.

As a new member I don't have access to that forum. Whats up with that?
